I’ve been coming to this store for YEARS and have never had a problem returning items before, even without a price tag. As long as I had the receipt, everything was fine. However, today I had the worst experience with a cashier named “Marie K.” First of all, she didn’t seem to know how to do her job and had to call the manager to consult on my transaction. The situation escalated to the point where the return wouldn’t have been possible if it were up to her. Fortunately, the manager on duty, “Ursula,” stepped in and tried to find a solution for me. She even corrected the cashier in front of me, confirming that I was right about the item I intended to return.
While the manager stepped away briefly to get something, Marie displayed a lack of professionalism by making a passive-aggressive comment toward me. This was after I had requested the manager’s help in having another cashier assist me, as Marie clearly showed no interest or initiative in helping me from the beginning.
I love this store and have been shopping here for 6 years, but this experience was very disappointing. I don’t even feel like returning now…
If you happen to have her as your cashier, I highly recommend requesting...
Read moreI am consistently disappointed with this store. I have been to this store about a couple dozen times over the past year and a half, and every single visit has been marred by ridiculously long checkout lines. It’s evident that the store’s management is more interested in cutting costs than providing decent service, as they refuse to hire more cashiers despite the constant need. No matter what day or time I go, the line is always a hassle. This persistent issue, driven by corporate greed, has pushed me to shop elsewhere. It's infuriating to waste so much time waiting when a little investment in staffing could make a significant difference. It’s a shame because the store has nice products at fair prices, (except for the furniture, the furniture is severely overpriced) but the checkout experience is consistently frustrating. It is like waiting in a Disney line. I rarely write bad reviews. I encourage you to check out other reviews I've written, and you will see that I give credit when credit is due, but this Home Goods location does not respect it's customers. They know that many people will endure these long lines and they will continue to treat the average consumers as peasants. From now on I will check out Ross or Burlington before I come to Home Goods. I have had enough and from now on this store will always be my last option. Also check out the other reviews, there is one review from 2 years ago that is stating how the lines have been a problem since then. It is absolutely ridiculous. One of the pictures I posted for this review is a screenshot of how much time I waited in line. 40 minutes and 44 seconds!
Read moreI don't personally write many reviews but I visited this store today 11/3 and my experience was horrible. I was able to find everything I wanted but the checkout line was absolutely absurd. I noticed while shopping that there seemed to be a lot of employees were stocking the store with new Christmas items which was fine. I noticed that it seemed that they were preoccupied with stocking the store instead of checking people out. The store only had 4 of 12 registers open which isn't even half the amount of registers! The wait to checkout was an hour long.. when it could've been a lot less. The employees walked right by the line seeing how long it was and didn't seem to care. I just don't understand how any store manager can find that acceptable on any given weekend for a line to be that long. I understand that you need to bring out your new items but a wait that long should be unacceptable in my opinion. By the time I was 6 people away from checking out they finally opened 2 more registers.. of the 12.. Needless to say, I won't be going back...
