The folks in the store were wonderful. Jesse the salesman was great, the store manager Greg was very helpful and courteous. The only reason I wouldn’t recommend any rooms to go is due to the delivery service they use. The bedroom set was to be delivered Wednesday, I called to verify that it was still coming at 3pm and they assured me it was. At that point I took my sons bed and furniture out to the dumpster to make room for the new furniture. At 6:45pm they called and said it would not be delivered due to an injury to the delivery team. Understandable, unforeseen event. They said a manager would call me in the morning to set up a new delivery time. At 10am the following day I hadn’t received a call, so I called the store to see when it would be delivered. At that point I was told the delivery company said they tried to call me at 6:45am and that they had made 3 attempts to reach me. 2 calls to me and One to my brother who lives with me. They said they called when the truck was in front of my brown house trying to make the delivery. They then said since I hadn’t picked up at 6:45 they wouldn’t be able to deliver until Monday sometime. I live in a yellowish beige apartment building, my brother and I are both in sales and pick up the phone for any number that calls, we both are up at 6am everyday and neither one of us had any missed calls or voicemails. Clearly they were confused about who they were trying to reach or they were outright lying. After working with the store manager Greg I got a Friday deliver without a timetable. They basically said it could arrive at 7am to 10pm with no phone call to let me know they were on the way despite a request from the rooms to go manager. They did show up without a call, they were in a big hurry and brought the chest up the stairs on his back. He hit the light fixture on the wall damaging the back of the chest and nearly taking the light fixture off the wall. It’s haging by the wires at this point. 11 years ago I bought a couch and had a similar experience with the delivery company. They called late in the day to say they were not going to be able to deliver it and it took nearly a week to finally get the couch. Had to take 2 full days off work because they refuse to call or give a time frame. After these two experiences I would rather pay more somewhere else then have to deal with such an incompetent delivery service. The money I saved at rooms to go I gave back missing work and then some due to the lack of accountability from the delivery service. Save time and money go...
Read moreMy wife and I walked in to purchase a Living Room set (We had the cash on us). When we told the sales person which set we wanted, he told us that he will make us a bill with the total. My wife asked him nicely if he can do something for us with the price (We thought, we just ask, we have nothing to lose) but the sales looked at us in a rude way and said to us: "What? Do you think you're in a cheap cheap store?" So I told him that we thought that maybe they had specials for the week-end, but it's okay (We were okay to buy it at that price), be then said rudely "Yeah, well if you need specials, you better go to another small place where the owner is there. Here, the owner is never here. The big brand names never negociate.". I looked at my wife, and we decided to leave. We came in to buy, but walked out upset at the attitude of the sales person. So we searched other stores, and went to Ashley, and they were very nice, but they didn't have what we were looking for, then searched another Rooms to Go, and headed toward it to buy the set we wanted. Then when we got to Rooms to Go on North East of Orlando (near Orlando Executive Airport), we passed by a Kane's store, so we decided to check it out (30min was left before the stores closed) So, we found a set very similar to what we wanted to have, but then we didn't want to stay, and preferred to leave Kane's and go to Rooms to Go before they close. But while walking toward the exit, a Kane's Sales person named Essam, introduced himself to us and asked us what we were looking for. But somehow, he inspired us positively, and told him about the set that we liked (It was 99% same looking at the one at Rooms To Go, and at the exact same price), but we still wanted to go to Rooms to go, but at the end he offered us 20% Off in such a professional way and convinced us to buy from him in a subtile way. So we ended up buying the Set, and added another extra Sofa Seat. We paid cash, and forgot about Rooms to Go. We are set to get everything delivered to us on Monday. My wife and I, left Kane's very happy and excited! And after thinking about it, Thank God that RTG sales person was rude, because we got an even better deal and better set than RTG. I made sure to say 3 or 4 times that I work in the evenings so I need the stuff delivered before 2:30pm. The sales person Ray reassured me once he put it in the notes they would make sure it would be there early enough for me. They are also supposed to call you 48-24 hours in advance to let you know your four hour window which that call never happened. So this morning when it was supposed to be delivered I called promptly at 9am to ask if it was still coming. I found out it was but was scheduled from 1-5pm which is the exact opposite time frame I needed it delivered. After calling customer care she tells me on the terms and conditions it tells you that's a courtesy window and they don't guarantee a time. Only after I read the terms and conditions to her verbatim did she finally put me on hold because there is nothing about the delivery at all. She got back on the line and said in the pamphlet they give you with the terms and conditions it mentions it. It says it is a courtesy window but nothing about how you'll be expected to stay at your home from 7am to 10pm. Also sorry to say a pamphlet is not a legally binding contract, the terms and conditions is. I am currently waiting to speak with the Sales Manager about refunding my delivery fee as I now had to call off work to wait for the furniture to arrive.
