If you are looking for privacy and exclusivity, this is NOT the place. We are only a family of 5 and rented the biggest house with a lake view that they offer in Storey Lake- for a bigger pool, extra space, a game room and movie theatre, but even those houses are still so close in proximity that you can see everyone in their patios and pool. It’s so uncomfortable. Security is a joke! Guard house is completely understaffed, unable to attend to everyone, so most people get in with minimal questioning. The gate that leads to the clubhouse is always open! You would think this gate should have the most security so only guests are able to use the amenities- not the case. The clubhouse was also understaffed, people were walking in and out unquestioned. We walked straight to the fitness center and no one noticed. As soon as we opened the door the smell was horrific. Another reason we chose Storey Lake was for the amenities and had planned to workout as a family. The treadmills are completely outdated, dumb bells are missing and definitely smaller than the pictures advertise. Not to mention, they don’t open until 9am. At that time you are already out the door or enjoying your planned activity for the day. We then walked to the pool area, came back in to ask where the mini golf was and the attendant questioned me, then asked me to sign in. At least 8 people walked right past her and she said nothing, didn’t even notice them. The pool area had so many people, you could barely see the water in the lazy river nor fit another person in there. Not to mention we didn’t even realize the mini golf was in the middle of it become there were so many people!!! It was so packed it completely turned us away, including my 3 boys. Ridiculous how many people were in there. Pool area was the same. Ughh so gross, there should definitely be a limit! There is a bar, but again, only one attendant, there were over 15 -20 people waiting in line. We obviously walked right out!
I do have to say that the grounds are impeccably maintained, great for morning runs/walks. The outdoor gym is ok, but 2 of the machines were broken.
Note- all pictures taken were at about 7am when very few people were out and the club house was closed, also does not...
Read moreThe pool area is amazing however, the staff at the front desk made it a miserable experience. The woman at the front desk was on a power trip and has zero people relations skills. This time of year it’s going to rain at some point most days and some people work all year to take a nice 1 week vacation with their families. The weather policy and the way it was communicated was completely ridiculous. Their policy is to close the pool when lightning is spotted within 10 miles AND to wait 30 more minutes after lightening is more than 10 miles away to reopen the pool. Both times our family wanted to swim, the pool was closed for hours to wait out what was just a small time of a little bit of rain. When asked what weather app they were using to make their decisions, they would not disclose the name of the app and we were told they were using “their own app” to check. The manager finally came out from a back room to communicate the policy and let us know which app they were checking (not their own app, shocking) and that the policy did not make sense to her either but she had to follow it. If it doesn’t make sense even to a fireman present at the pool with his family, then it’s a policy that...
Read moreThe Storey Lake Clubhouse and oasis is WONDERFUL! Initially, I was taken aback by the cost of access. I feel it is quite outrageous, as it is included in room cost and has to be paid…. Regardless, I must say that it is a real nice spot. Close to any of the houses nearby, easy access etc. Lazy river + jacuzzi + pool + slides. FUN!! Additionally, there is beach volleyball and basketball. Mini-putt is not worth the $8+ to play. Only 9 holes & not well maintained. Drinks are excessively marked up. Besides the redundant costs of things that should be free/cheaper, it’s a nice spot. Good if you want to spend a day at your hotel & not go to all the busy disney parks etc.
One note is that this facility definitely needs to invest in more seating + floats. There were not nearly enough given the capacity of people coming...
