I've been a longtime customer of Ace Hardware stores from here to back home in Alabama. While I've always enjoyed my experiences at any Ace, this one is by far the best in customer service. Everyone on staff is incredibly attentive without being over-the-top. They go out of their way to be as helpful and informative as they can. I also noticed how well they all get along and work together--I always look forward to popping in because of the customer service alone, it will really cheer you up! The store selection is so great, too. Many smaller hardware stores just don't quite have what you need so you still find yourself begrudgingly driving to a bigger store like Home Depot or Lowe's anyway. That is not the case here. They are well-stocked with everything you could need and somehow they've managed to keep their prices reasonable, which I can't say about many other Ace stores I've been to, "paying for the convenience." Five stars for customer service. Staff is well trained and knowledgeable. I've asked some extremely esoteric questions and been pleasantly surprised that they had answers. The only reason I don't give this a 5-star rating is that their pricing does reflect the amount of training that they give their employees. If you know exactly what you need a big box store is going to be cheaper, but if you have any questions and are worried about getting the right items for your project, I think that the slight price premium is more than Justified by the customer service and knowledge that you will get from their employees. Getting the wrong materials costs time and money. I try to buy from them whenever I have any questions because I want to support their business model. Amazing customer service today when I called October 4th about pool noodles for my girls hotsprings trip. Everywhere was out at least 6 places I tried and Amazon wouldn'thabe gotten here fast enough. Called and instantly was told nope out of season all gone. I made a desperate FB post asking if anyone had any leads. One lovely lady advised I try Lake Oswego Ace as they have great customer service. I called and was greeted immediately by Rob who said you know we have them put away upstairs for the season but if you hold on I'll see if I can still access them. Rob comes back and says how many do you need. He pulled down 6 for me. Even asked if I had a color preference. I picked them right up and they were waiting for me at the front of the store.
