A week ago, in the late afternoon, I was dropping my younger son off at the movie theater (across the street) and decided to take a walk knowing I had 2 hours to fill. I stumbled into Bumblebee Flowers & Tea and was immediately charmed with the interior…lots of light, beautiful pottery, fresh flowers, baked goods…I imagined I would have some tea and scones. And then I saw the dinner menu and decided to treat myself to an early gourmet dinner instead. The owner Sunny made me feel so welcome and as we chatted, she offered to make me a wine cocktail (it was delicious) and I feasted on lobster tail and sautéed asparagus and snow peas. For dessert I had a lovely berry tart. How wonderful to be able to enjoy wine, gourmet Asian food, fresh baked deserts in such a lovely intimate setting. I’ve been back two times this week to pick up baked goods or to take my son to dinner. For our second mean, I pre-ordered the Peking Duck and finished with a raspberry tart. This is my new favorite place in Lake Oswego!

You MUST try this place, it is an absolute GEM!!!! I live in Lake Oswego and I love English tea services, so when I saw the sign I knew I had to try it! The space is adorable both inside and out. The business does both English and Hong Kong tea-style food during the day, and also has a Sungari Nights menu for dinner. This time we tried the Hong Kong tea, and because the chef was in they allowed us to try dishes from the dinner menu, which were phenomenal!! Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. I think the sesame chicken was the best I have ever tasted. The sweets course was lovely - all the pastries were light and freshly baked. Because the indoor space is small, reservations are needed for dinner, or if you are lucky and they have space for a walk-in seating they may be able to do "chef's choice" based on what ingredients are available. I can't wait to go back and try the English tea service next!!!

A delightful oasis in an urban environment. Relaxing to the soul. Somehow the traffic noise, while present, fades into the background while the lush gardens and trickling fountain become dominant to the senses. The potstickers are worth the trip. You cannot find anything comparable elsewhere. These true potstickers, not gyōzas labeled as potstickers. And I cannot say enough about the turkey! On my first bite I traveled through time to the day after Thanksgiving. This is real roasted turkey that you cannot get elsewhere. Every year we contemplate if we really want to cook a turkey for just 2 people, and every year the answer is yes, for those left over turkey sandwiches that you just cannot get any where else. Well, they have them here!

I only drank tea as I wasn’t hungry. The teas were lovely and unique. I highly recommend the Blushing Paeonia. However, the owner(?)/chef treated me and her staff poorly. Maybe she was having a bad day. I had a couple of questions and was taken aback by her terse responses. I’ve worked in food service and I can’t say I was ever perfect, I was rude sometimes too, but someone called me out on it and it helped me change. Her staff was very helpful and courteous EDIT: Re: to response from owner: I am SO SORRY for your back to back losses and I understand why your possibly normally cordial demeanor would have been undermined. How awful. Maybe you could have closed for the rest of the day? I thought you were speaking to me because you looked right at me, in my eyes more than once, such as when you showed me the loose leaf bags and you assured me with a mildly disgusted face that you refilled pots, as if I were worried about pricing. I was not concerned about value. I just wanted to know the quantity so as not to be wasteful. For round two, when I asked the server at the counter about nondairy milks due to allergies, she said almond and possibly oat but the sous chef said there was none. When the server confirmed, “do we not have oat milk today?” You replied like an angry parent: “Is that a problem?!” Again, looking towards your employee and then directly at me. I quietly explained it was due to allergies and that I didn’t need the milk after all. I felt like we’d all been chastised. These are the only reasons I was uncomfortable.

I hope you find peace in the midst of your deep losses and I am truly sorry you are hurting. 🖤 I’d like a...

A Charming and Memorable High Tea Experience I recently surprised my son with high tea at Bumblebee Tea & Flowers, and it exceeded every expectation. As someone who’s enjoyed tea at some of the most renowned hotels and tearooms, I can confidently say this gem holds its own.

The tea service was fun and creative, featuring unexpected flavor profiles that were both refreshing and comforting (the prawn sandwich). What makes Bumblebee truly special is their commitment to the art and wellness of tea. Every detail—from the presentation to the curation—reflects their belief in tea’s healing properties.

The owner was absolutely lovely. She took the time to speak with us personally about her sourcing process and even crafted a custom blend tailored just for us. That level of care and thoughtfulness is rare and made the experience unforgettable.

Whether you're a devoted tea enthusiast or just looking for a unique outing, I highly recommend making a reservation. Bumblebee Tea & Flowers offers more than tea—it offers connection, intention, and a bit of magic...
