William is who (didn't) help us today. I was bringing in my daughter's laptop to be repaired cause it's under warranty. Checked in at my appointment time and was told I'd need to wait, which was already not what I expected as I thought I'd just be dropping it off. I told him I thought I would just drop it off and he said something about them needing to check accounts and collect any fees and such. Ok so we sat down.
Things were going slow and I had been waiting a while with my three kids when eventually I noticed the guy, William, was helping people who'd just walked up. I couldn't see anyone else working and I finally went and found another customer service person who came over to tell him what I said. He shrugged it off and said he was just going down the list. Then asked if someone had checked me in. I said yes, you did, an hour ago. He then looked on his computer and said I didn't have an appointment. I said yes I did. He was the one who checked me in and confirmed my name and appointment time.
So he says he can try to multitask as if he's doing me some big favor, and starts looking up my information while going back and forth to another customer who's appointment time was an hour after mine. But he wouldn't look it up with the information I had, saying he could only do it by phone number and pushing back against everything I said (I had to explain multiple times that my daughter got the laptop through her school and when we left the school we bought it out and the warranty was transferred to us and this was the information we were given that we've actually used before to use this warranty and it wasn't a problem then).
He finally gave in and looked it up through our repair history instead of the numbers I had that he wouldn't look it up with, and what do you know there it all is. The whole thing was so ridiculous and he never once acknowledged his screw up or apologized or anything. Just kept trying to create more problems and treat me like I was the one who messed up. I was there for an hour and half waiting with three kids at this store that's the closest to me at 45 minutes away, and man if I didn't have this warranty that we have to use at best buy, I'd never go back. Read morewish I could give 0 stars to be honest. Was told when I took my phone up there for repair that my phone was not repairable. Cool, so I paid for a replacement ($105.93 to be exact) I paid that under the impression that I will get a replacement phone. Was told by the tech 3-5 days. Well a week rolls around and I still haven't gotten my phone. I called on the 19th and was told by a tech that I needed to call back tomorrow, it should be there. Call today the 20th just to have no one answer any calls all day. I go through the website and talk to an agent and the agent informs me that they are waiting for a part to finish repairing my phone. I paid for a full replacement, and I even have my paper that Geek Squad gave me saying NON REPAIRABLE DAMAGE, so why are they repairing my phone. Now i'm supposed to wait another 3-5 days ( a week pretty much because it will be longer than that). So not only was I lied to about getting a replacement, I was lied to when told it will be ready today when they knew they are waiting for parts to repair the phone. Basically geek squad took my money. I will NEVER use geek squad again. So now i'm going to be out of a phone for 2 weeks. I can't even work because I have to have my cell phone to be able to work! Read moreI recently went in and upgraded to 179.99 total tech membership due ti me buying pc parts and head sets and just the installation services I was told a lot of different things in terms of what comes with plan and never got a clear answer just a lot of inconsistency in terms of what plans or installation services they have at Best Buy till I had this amazing and kind and very intelligent and smart geek squad member his name was “Chad” he actually walked out from behind the desk which they typically do and helped me recommend what parts would be good with my gaming pc and I just had say he was the most awesomest person there and made sure I was taken care accordingly I’m happy I singed up for the plan and overall his customer service was amazing and I do plan to buy multiple products because of this give this man a medal
