Hot Topic — Local services in Lakewood

Shopping early for Christmas presents can always be a pro in the making or a con. Never know when a sale is happening unless you subscribe to a favourite stores website or check the internet for deals. Happen to stop at Lakewood mall and of the stores I went too, Hot Topic was professional, greeted me with a hello, insuring I had my mask, some Sanitizer and promoted his sale's Spiel. Sad to say I did not get his name but it was in detail, short and sweet. Had one of the reps inside greet me as well and let me just say 2 greetings in one day is a record compared to a lot of establishments I've visited. You wonder why im big on acknowledging a customer. You ever go inside a store and no one says anything to you at all. you feel like you have spinach In your teeth or your clothes worn for the day are dowdy and not for let's say banana republic. you get the, " eye " look or the body check. You feel either unworthy or invisible. Well this was exactly what defeated it. Got me some beanies ( for friends ) and a cute gift for a friend of mine in Mexico City ( won't say. have no idea if she's reading this ....lol ). Anyone ever in the Lakewood area, stop by. grab a latte, take a peek at hot topics and its crazy items. Cashier was apologetic about the wait in line ( some guest wanted a purse that was like way up in the ceiling and the cashier had a hard time getting it down with her metal staff ). Very good...

New update. Worst Place in Los Angeles / Long Beach area to get your collectible items. Yes I said it and am not scared to tell the truth. They are very UNORGANIZED with their LINE. When there is a new HOT item release, it’s a free for all, unlike other hot topics who truly care about their customer service. You can be standing in line for hours, and once the door opens , anyone can just rush in. They seriously need to fix their method of where an actual line can start, instead of having these SCALPERS who come in groups of 3 , sneak in through the EMPLOYEE entrance just to be IN FRONT of the store so they can RESELL the items for a much higher price. And they need to hand out NUMBER TICKETS for proof that this person was in line. I stopped spending my hard earned money at this Lakewood location. I spend it on the other locations who have better customer services. I will never spend money at this hot topic regardless if they fix their situation or not.

This hot topic will have the exclusives, but one thing about this location SCALPERS (people who come in groups of two or more to get more than the limited amount per person) will have the store sold out before you even get there, not to mention they hardly post anything the day before a hot item drops like most hot topic stores do. Although it's not the same Hot Topic I shopped at in my younger years, I still drop in because of the jewelry -- I love me some wicked earrings, even if they're cheap. The staff that greet are awesome. Still have a bad taste given a cashier totally ignored my being in line waiting to be rung up. I waited to be called over but nothing. So I approached the counter and still no greeting. Nothing. As if I was invisible. If I wasn't desperate for the items I had, I honestly would've walked out. I should've gotten his name.
