I recently visited Gonzalez Market, and unfortunately, my experience at checkout was disappointing. When I approached the register, I noticed three staff members engaged in a full-blown conversation. Even after seeing me place my items down, none of them greeted me or acknowledged my presence. Instead, they continued their conversation for several minutes while I stood there waiting.
As the cashier began ringing up my items, she still didnât say a single word to meâno greeting, no acknowledgment, nothing. The conversation between the three employees continued, making it clear that their discussion was more important than providing basic customer service.
It wasnât until I was walking out the door that I finally heard a staff member say, âGoodbye, have a good day.â But by that point, it felt forced and insincere. The lack of engagement throughout the entire interaction left me feeling more than just frustratedâit was genuinely hurtful.
I understand that employees may need to communicate about work-related matters, but those discussions should never come at the expense of customer service. A simple greeting and basic acknowledgment go a long way in making customers feel valued. Unfortunately, my experience today was a reflection of the declining standards of customer service, and it left a lasting negative impression.
If management would like to review the situation, this occurred on Tuesday, February 11, at approximately 1:20 PM at the checkout registers. I hope this feedback helps improve future customer...
Read moreGonzalez meat market is a small clean and friendly meat market that offers various meats from beef to seafood. Neatly arranged produce is available at affordable prices. There is a large selection of beer and wine as well as home made salsas and my favorite sauce, the guacamole salsa. Ask for a T-bone steak at your desired thickness. When you order carne asada the butcher will make you a fresh marinade with fresh oranges and limes and their custom blend of cumin, salt, pepper, and chile powder.
The staff at the Gonzalez Meat Markey are friendly and it is apparent that care and thought are put into their offerings. Strong customer service and attention to detail make this little Carniceria a first-choice for meat and poultry and fresh produce.
Give them a try. It's less crowded and there's more personalized service without all the...
