I typically don’t write reviews, but I feel compelled to share the deeply disappointing experience I had at this restaurant. Despite spending nearly a total of $600, my friends and I were treated with a shocking lack of basic respect by the owner. We were ordering our food, when we noticed a group of girls that came in, we happen to know them, they were sat 1 foot away from our table, as we started to say hi and give each other a hug, they scooted their table near us, of course it seemed to be fine to us since we knew who they were, as a night went on we were having a great time together laughing catching up and enjoying ourselves, next thing you know, I am given my order in a to go container and told to pay my check and leave. I asked our waitress why I was being forced to leave, and she mentioned that her manager told her so. I then ask her to please have the manager come to our table because I'm at loss as to why I'm being asked to leave, he comes to our table, very rudely and points to the door and says, “you guys need to get the hell out of my restaurant” in a very rude, loud manner, as a woman I've never been spoken to like that, and coming from a man it was very intimidating, but I didn't raise my voice still, and asked him why I'm being asked to leave, he says that apparently we disrespected his restaurant, pointing to the group of girls that we had coincidentally seen at the restaurant, I then explained to him that we have nothing to do with them, we came separately, different reservations, and that he is treating us disrespectfully for doing nothing wrong
At one point, I felt completely intimidated and disrespected when the owner raised his voice at me without justification. I calmly asked him to please lower his voice, to which he responded that he didn’t care and told me to “get the hell out” of his restaurant. I then requested that he remove the food he had packed for me, as I did not plan to take it home—I had intended to enjoy it in the restaurant. He refused multiple times until I politely persisted. Eventually, he took my receipt, removed the item, handed it back to me, and once again told me to “get the hell out.”
Throughout the entire interaction, I remained composed and respectful. I quietly gathered my belongings and left, all while the staff stood at the hostess podium watching us, making our exit feel incredibly uncomfortable and public. It was humiliating and unnecessary.
My friends and I had no involvement in any other situation occurring at the time, yet we were unfairly treated. I can’t help but feel that the tone and aggression used would not have occurred had we been accompanied by male partners or if we had not been only females. The entire experience left us feeling singled out and taken advantage of simply because we were women dining on our own.
We maintained our dignity and composure throughout, but we will absolutely not be returning. I regret the money I’ve spent at this establishment, and I hope this review encourages the ownership to reflect on how guests—especially women—should be treated with...
Read moreThis place came highly recommended by someone we met while dining at a different restaurant the night before. No offense to the city, but Lancaster - really, the entire Antelope Valley - isn't exactly a hot-spot for good food... so we were just hoping to have a decent meal and enjoy ourselves. My girlfriend and I took her parents for dinner, and all of us were literally blown away at how good everything was. The food, the drinks, and the service were all excellent. My girlfriend has an intolerance to allium, so avoiding garlic and onions is a necessity. We are always asking servers about ingredients in different dishes, and unfortunately, it's very common for them to not only not know, but to show no real initiative to find out. Our server, Emily, knew the answer to every question we had. In total, we ordered 5 five plates, and each had at least one modification... they all came out perfectly made. That's almost unheard of. Especially at a casual restaurant. We ordered the sticky wings, meatball sliders, cauliflower tacos, and crispy chicken sandwich, and shared it all. They were all great. I had a vodka martini that was excellent. A martini is like the pasta dish, cacio a pepe... only a couple of ingredients, but most of the time, it's not well executed. The martini was perfect: exactly how I ordered it. I also had a whisky sour that was fantastic. Everything was high quality and well executed. The pricing was almost shockingly low. An amazing value for a great meal. I can't say enough great things about this spot, and we all can't...
Read moreEverything was fabulous! Great food and great service... UNTIL... the bill (No, not overpriced). The bill was around $80. My friend gave $55 cash, where the waiter (Steven S) was asked to put the rest on my card (that would have been around $25). Still with me? Wonderful lol :) He even came back to the table BEFORE he closed us out and asked AGAIN, "Cash first, then card?" - to which we both replied, "Yes." The waiter came back with the receipt for my card, and the total showed the original $80. When I went to add tip, I caught that the total still said $80 (when it should have said that $25 I mentioned earlier). I had asked why the total said $80 still and if the tip would total it out to now $95?! The waiter replied, it was an accident and that he hit cash on the screen, but it didn't take it and just processed the card. I then asked for our cash back. HOWEVER, he had the cash wadded up in his pocket, folded like he was taking it. He was also really nervous telling us about the alleged "accident" on the screen and processing error. I got a really eerie feeling that he was trying to pocket the $55 AND get a tip on my card!? I'm really upset. The money should NOT HAVE ever ended up in his pocket, as it should have been part of the transaction. The way he had it folded and how he was acting, I just know, he wanted to take it. I will no longer support this business, as I do not believe it was an accident. Sadly, extremely disappointed. You guys... watch your...
