I took FIVE children* in, gave them the "touch anything and live in infamy forever" talk, and we looked all through the shop. I was so worried that we'd encounter cranky owners who figured we would destroy everything, but it was just the opposite! They have a great selection of really interesting things (especially for kids who love to read but don't know what objects they may be reading about look like), and were really kind and welcoming. We even got some very first antiques for 3 of the 5 (we did not buy the 3rd grader legitimate juggling clubs) and they are thrilled and getting hooked on discovering treasures. I'm over the moon that I can teach them to be respectful and curious and NOT have to teach them the "some people have bad experiences and think all kids are out of control" lesson at the same time.
As far as the store goes, you can tell the focus more on curating turn of the century items, and it is really lovely and competitively priced. Great shop!
You know your kids. If your kids are tornadoes or monsters or toddlers or under five, do NOT bring them into this lovely shop. Your precious angel is going to break things. Don't let them break things here. You know your child, and you know...
Read moreMy husband and I have been looking for a kitchen island for over two years, yes I know this is a long time, yes I’m embarrassed it took that long. We found not just one but two that we absolutely loved. The store team helped us envision different tops for the tables and areas we could use them if the kitchen island didn’t work out. We were even brave/dumb for bringing four kids in an antique store and they never complained, even when they probably should have. The staff engaged and joked with our kids including them in on the decision too. The pick up process was smoother than silk pie! They helped my husband load both islands and roosting box in his truck after holding the pieces for us for a day. You can tell that the staff is passionate about history and keeping it alive with their high quality pieces they routinely rotate and restock. We have enjoyed going into their shop once a month for the last two years and we will miss seeing them since now we have our dream...
Read moreThe guys are always so thoughtful! They willingly hold an item for you which doesn’t help my shopping but is great when that it item you’ve been wanting pops up! They also keep you in mind for pieces and let you have a preview and first dibs which is such amazing customer service. I’ve purchased several antiques from them. They are always well loved before I pick them up (or they at times even delivered). They are very fair on their pricing. I’m always a bargain hunter and often find that their prices are better than what I’m seeing in Facebook market. Plus I know that if I’m buying a piece from them it is well taken care of. They care enough to ensure whatever they are selling is great quality and well preserved. I highly recommend them! They always provide quality antiques at an affordable...
