Iāve been coming here for almost a year twice a month and never had a problem until now when I had to go to Membership services.
In all the 15+ years my family has been a Costco member and have dealt with a Supervisor, I never had one talk down to me as Brittany has. First she completely ignored me for several minutes as I stood in front of her while she trained another employee. When she finally acknowledged me, she appeared irritated that I needed help.
I simply was wondering about why I didnāt get a discount on the trash bag and she just point blank asked if it was on the coupon book and I was like yes I thought it was. Then she takes the time to go through the coupon book after Iāve told her I saw it on the store sign. When she didnāt see it on the coupon book, she had her trainee look it up in the system and took it as another learning opportunity. Then she tells her to go to the aisle where it was and tells me to take her. In the past, the supervisor never had to ask me to come with the associate. This was a first.
After coming back and confirmed it wasnāt on sale, I kindly told her I want to return it back. While she was processing it, she saw I used my husbands card and brought it up, which surprisingly no one at this store ever brought it up. I showed her own card and she kept insisting I should use my card. I explained to her I dont use because my points are not being added up in the system and she keeps on arguing - basically I told her I donāt want to get into this as Iāve told Membership before of this issue and got no where. I got my refund and left.
Moral of the story - Avoid Brittany the Costco supervisor at all cost. sheās likes to be right and honestly needs more training in how she talks to customers. Strong customer service is not her strongest skillset and it doesnāt matter to her if you spend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall of my 3 years of shopping at this Costco, I have only had two 2 positive experiences. I love the Costco brand (I use to shop at the Springfield, Va location when I lived in DC). The Leesburg location staff is awful. I am persistently asked for my membership ID at the entrance, while others just walk through and not asked for their membership ID. I stopped going through the regular check-out because the cashiers would only speak or be pleasant to white customers. I prefer to shop, not be watched, followed and have the staff be professional/customer focused. I stopped asking for help, the last time I did the staff member pretended like he could not hear me (saying āexcuse me sir, sir, excuse me sir). When I persisted for acknowledgement, he was so irritated, I gave up and walked away. The only time I have somewhat of a positive experience is when my husband is present. Yet he gets employee tartness of disapproval from time to time. I called and expressed my dismay, the male manager listened, but nothing changed. My last trip, I nearly got ran over by a large pallet an employee (Tall/large male with a beard) was maneuvering. He saw me, stoned face kept proceeding and refused to give me the opportunity to grab what I needed. It took me a minute to process what just occurred as I stood there I see him stop for a white member who hastily walks through the aisle to grab a case of regular coke cans. Itās becoming increasingly difficult to patronize this location and the brand...

I bought and just tried some Argentine Red Shrimp, frozen of course from Costco. Bought 'em and got 'em home still frozen. Thawed and boiled some of them. They are borderline mushy, and have a fishy smell to them. I would not buy them again. Costco carries a lotta different kinds of shrimp, and as long as they are wild-caught, I will try them all.
I've had other red shrimp, and their texture was firm, flavor was sweet and lobster-like. These were not like those. I do not know the reason for the mushiness and fishy smell. Could be any number of things.
But Costco has always been very reliable for me with foods. And I know they cannot taste-test every batch they receive.
11/16/2020 Update: Went in yesterday, with a short list of stuff to get: some steaks I was gonna grill for my neighbors--Costco's excellent rib-eyes. Got my ribeyes, and was headed out, espied some lamb racks. I have been wanting to try grilling those little lamb chop pops, so I grabbed a pack of them for a measly $15.
Got home, cut the rack up into single rib chops, and then marinaded a couple of them for 2 hours in cheap Italian dressing. I then grilled the two chops on a really hot charcoal fire, til they were nice and crusty, and 135 inside.
Took 'em off the grill, and took a bite.... OMFG those two chops were THE best meat I have ever had offa ANY grill, ANYwhere, in my life. ...
