A Memorial Day experience NEVER to forget!
My wife, three-year-old, and six-year-old (birthday girl) enter the store and order our food. The lady who took our order was great, but they don’t support military discounts…. Not a big deal; however, everything fell apart as soon as a different employee called our number “67”. She called it, and two seconds later called it again. Mind you; we are sitting at a table about 15 feet away…. My wife gets up and proceeds to the counter. The employee began to get loud and suggest that we made eye contact and didn’t go to the counter fast enough. Anyway, I confronted her and restated what had ACTUALLY happened and that her rudeness was uncalled for.
She began to tell me to come closer and taunted me. She was trying to instigate me to get in her face. We packed our stuff and left. We complained to their corporate customer service. Within thirty minutes, Marvin (Store Manager) called to ask what happened and apologize. He quickly supported a refund and was very respectful.
The problem is that Marvin also mentioned: “This isn’t the first time; she has a history of doing this.” He also stated, “This is the final straw, I will contact the district manager and see what can be done.” He initially tried to convey that it may be a training issue, but I would argue it is an individual issue. If it is a training issue as the store manager suggested, I would STRONGLY suggest nobody eats there. WHEN THEIR EMPLOYEES LACK BASIC SOCIAL DECENCY, HOW CAN WE TRUST THEM TO HANDLE OUR FOOD?
I think until they get a handle on their untrained employees, it would be wise to avoid this store. Might I suggest other local alternatives like Burger Fi, McDonald’s, Burger King, Roy Rogers, etc? There are plenty of good restaurants who can whip up some nice...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars to this Five Guys establishment then I would. Tonight my best friend and I went to Five Guys for takeout. $ 70 plus a tip was spent on 4 burgers and 3 orders a fries. One sandwich was a BLT and the other 3 sandwiches were bacon burgers. Two of the sandwiches were completely wrong and without bacon. If it was any cheap burger spot then we would have just ate the burgers. But, anyone who knows Five Guys knows how pricey it is. So my friend called to explain our wrong order. They asked what day we would like to pick up the burgers?? Um how about NOW since we just ordered food from you. $70 worth of food was spent, so yes we're going to drive out and get our correct order!! So we drove 30 minutes back to Five Guys to pick up our correct order. When we arrive to Five Guys our order is in a bag waiting. My friend asked for a fresh order of fries since our original fries that we ordered were now cold due to coming back out to Five Guys. The staff said they were out of fries (which was a lie because there was fries cooking right behind him) and he said "I'm not giving you fries". $70 plus a tip was spent on this food and the tip alone would have covered the fries. I didn't want to start a confrontation but that is really weak from Five Guys. I won't be going back to this establishment. I prefer Melt anyway. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have...
Read moreBurgers are a weird thing to me. The heritage of burgers was one of necessity: originally the patties were made of lower quality cuts of beef and pork. The focus was more on quality ingredients. Now-a-days, a lot of folks try to elevate the burger. They do this by adding non-typical toppings or getting quality meat cuts for the pattie. I like old school burgers. Five guys does old school burgers. Thin, juicy, flavorful patties with quality toppings, and a good choice of toppings. Service at this location is always good and you get a lot of food, so you won't walk out hungry. My only critique is that you will pay top dollar for your burger here. I know we're currently experiencing rising inflation, but paying $20 for a bacon cheeseburger, with fries and a drink seems more like stadium prices (AKA ripoff prices) than burger restaurant prices. I really love the food here. All that being said, I'll get a burger here once a year instead of...
