I see there are already a few negative reviews regarding the service here. I visited the store for the first time the other day and wasn't greeted at the door, even though I was the only one in the store and two or three folks standing and chatting at the registers. I walked around for a bit looking for a Festool product, but never was I asked if I needed help. Still, no other customers there. But when a couple walked in and was not only greeted but also asked if they needed help to let them know as well as given information about a flyer at the door and to sign up on email, I was totally baffled. The sincerity and pleasantry was like I was in a different store. Not sure if it matters (hope not), but I'm not white and this couple was and so were the three clerks. May have been some implicit bias going on here (benefit of the doubt). When I was leaving, I heard a 'have a good night'. Wow! I turned and said "actually, I'd like to know about...". I ended up almost forcing them to show me the product, which they weren't even that familiar with. Not the features, nor the pricing. Needless to say this was my first and last visit. I am Not a customer that complains all the time or over spilled milk but I had a phone experience that was really upsetting. Most of the people at this store are remarkable people which is why I give them almost all my business but one of the staff has proven time and time again to conduct themselves in a very unprofessional manner. When I had called and asked if a sale item was in stock it was replied that he didn't see one on the shelf but an order had come in and it may be there. When I asked if I could stop by while I was in town in an hour or so he replied, "Sure, we could drop what we're doing and go through the boxes to get you one." The tone was very condescending. This is not the first time this person has been rude to me. If he reads this he will know who I am talking about and I am sure if confronted about this he will deny it. If you go there,see Matt or Wayne or one of the other guys. I would rather buy online and pay shipping than be treated like this. Read moreI normally love going to Woodcraft. I ordered a belt sander from the Leesburg, VA store 8 days ago. The person who took my order was wonderful to work with. I was told the order should be in within 8 days. With today being the 8th day and not hearing from the store, I called to inquire. I spoke with Barbara and from the beginning wasn't happy. I started by asking if she would like my name and order number and was told no. She asked what I ordered and when I told her she said "well, that's not here, the distribution center is closed". It wasn't the message that bothered me, more so it was the tone and the abruptness.
