The employees at this store have made returning (or exchanging items) an awkward experience on more than 1 occasion, and in spite of their policies. The 1st time I had 2 employees tell me together that they canât accept returns - when I pointed out that is not their policy, and that they accept returns within 90 days if an item is unopened, the older of the 2 employees quickly back-tracked to tell me they are supposed to discourage returns. Yet Iâve shopped at every Five Below in Utah multiple times each, some 10+ times, and have returned or exchanged items at almost every location, and Iâve NEVER had ONE issue at ANY of the other Five Below stores. And recently had a SECOND issue at this Logan store with a manager telling me an item wasnât on a receipt when it clearly was when cross-referencing skus, and had to be adamant in order for the manager to just scan the dang receipt and then the item, and violĂ , the item rang through as on the receipt. This happened with TWO items as well. Why do the hourly employees of this corporate store treat a return or exchange like theyâre paying for it with their paycheck? Again have never had anything but awesome experiences at other locations. Not impressed and will think twice about spending my $ at this strange & unusual...
Read moreWireless headphones purchased here could have started a fire in my apartment.
Despite using an AC adapter at the recommended 5V DC and 2 Amp, the charging control shorted through and melted the headphones and the USB cable I was using. Fortunately I caught it after smelling smoke and burning plastic.
When I went to return the headphones, the store manager wanted to argue with me since I wasn't using the provided USB cable to charge the headphones (despite the power transfer being mainly determined by the AC adapter, which wasn't provided by the headset). I was using an AC adapter with the recommended output voltage and current, and a USB cable that I'd had for years and used at that wattage before on other devices. Besides, the point of failure was pretty obviously inside the headset itself (the charging port literally melted out).
Sooner or later, someone's going to have the same thing happen to them, and they won't be as lucky as I was. Don't trust any electronics you buy here--they're a...
Read moreUsually I have an alright experience shopping at 5 Below but the music is always blasting throughout the entire store. Itâs hard to talk to my partner with the music blaring around us so we have to yell at each other to hear. Went to the store other day, got a few items & went to go checkout. There was an employee who guided me to one of the self-checkout registers & proceeded to grab the stuff & check me out. I tried grabbing the other stuff I had in my cart but worker kept pushing my hand away. Ok then⌠another couple showed up behind us & she quickly left me in the mid transaction to help them. I couldnât care less cause I was finally able to scan my stuff. She got really upset & kept trying to help me when I clearly showed I didnât need help. She was super persistent & kept educating me on how to operate the system....
