I once gave this second hand store a higher score but now I cannot give it more than a 1.5-2 stars. I once found two good items for a reasonable price but in the past year the items are so significantly overpriced for something they get second hand and for a fraction of the price. I was looking at three coach bags in the store and 2/3 were fakes being sold for 50 dollars. The stitching was off, the material was questionable and there was no barcode. They are simply trying to con the right consumer who doesn’t know what to look for.
Moving onto the next issue, they offer very low prices to sellers and upcharge the items to make a massive profit (none of which goes to charity). Sellers do not have anything to gain and are better off giving their clothing elsewhere or directly donating. From my firsthand experience, they offered me 10 cents for an item they would sell for five. This is a profit margin of 99.9 percent with the seller receiving only 0.1 percent of the value of what they would sell the item (not even considering how much the item could actually be worth regardless of their...
Read moreVisited several times while staying in the area and I have to say - 2nd Street needed a store like this. After the Buffalo closed down the street there just wasn't any stores with used clothing or modern/newer clothes. Too many "vintage T" type places.
This Store really reminds me of a Buffalo Exchange, but with more organization when it comes to genre/type. As far as color, pattern and size - those are kind of all mixed together for the most part.
I was able to find a good amount of items I was looking for and prices were fair. I'm not really into designer hype or vintage, but there's great casual items mixed in from newer brands that typically cost a lot new.
Can't really speak to the selling aspect as I didn't sell anything.
Yes the fitting rooms don't have any chairs/benches but that's probably done tactfully to reduce shoplifting/loss.
Yes there is security there watching people and walking around but it shouldn't bother you if you're not doing anything wrong. They're protecting shoppers as well as their own inventory.
Will definitely...

As a Gen-Xer, I appreciate all the punk, new wave, and alternative tunes while shopping. Reminds me of spending my youth on Melrose at Flip, Aardvarks, Poseur, Cowboys & Poodles, etc. It's hit and miss with service - I've had some very friendly salespeople and a couple who were downright rude. Trying things on is a pain if they're busy, because of their limited changing rooms. Some prices are way too high as well, particularly on accessories like bags, watches, and sunglasses. I sold some quality jeans to them, for which I was offered $1 per pair. Surprise! They're obviously interested in the highest mark-up possible. Pretty sure they'll be sold around $7-$8 per pair. I'll still shop here, and I do think it's worth a trip if you're a thrift fan. That said, I won't sell here anymore because the buyers don't know brands, quality, or fashion. More training for them...
