2 days in a row, they burnt the milk! If you enjoy the taste of burnt milk in your latte, not to mention that lingering sour taste on your tongue...than Stereoscope Coffee Long Beach is your place.
We have been here a few times before, and no issues when the two male baristas make the drinks. Unfortunately yesterday and today our drinks were made by a female Asian barista.
I tried giving them a chance to fix the problem we experienced yesterday, letting them know the latte made by this person had been burnt, leaving a bad taste that lingers in your mouth for hours. I also mentioned we didn't know if she was a new employee in training, and maybe more training was needed. He asked me, who? I said an Asian female employee. He said, "Oh, ok."
I actually expected our drinks would be fine today since this female barista was not there....Unfortunately, while my order was coming up the order line, she came out from the back and proceeded to make our drinks. Based on her conversation with another patron while making drinks, she is not a "new employee". Giving her the benefit of the doubt that she had an "off day" I took our drinks. Unfortunately for me, she BURNT the latte again!!
The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because we ordered 2 drinks, and the cappuccino she made was fine. I also tried calling to let them know this happened again, but they never answered their phone. Going forward, if she's the barista, polite pass, I will order again when she's not making the drinks.
Hope this review is helpful to Stereoscope and...
Read moreStruggling a bit with a review. We went a couple times this weekend after not having been for a while. And we actually tried a couple new drinks and a couple familiar ones. I love their hot chocolate because it's unique but this time it seemed to miss the mark of it with how it wasn't mixed up. It just seems like a lot to pay to have a drink that isn't fully drinkable. We were also surprised to learn their removing the chai and didn't have it at this store. That's always been a favorite drink in our group. And I think the other thing that was hard to see is how front and center a merchandise is now. Instead of it being in a cozy little corner, it is taking over one of the best seating areas they had for multiple people. We've seen more businesses, especially coffee shops start to add more product and sacrifice other things. We only represent a small number of customers to these shops, but we definitely aren't fans of the vibe of added merchandise at the sacrifice of the ambience of...
Read more1 shot dirty Chai with Miracle milk, $8.75. It was decent. Alternative milk options available. No public restroom!! So if you're planning yo be here for a little while, be aware. Restroom next door at Pressed - must buy something. Service was great! Super kind and they checked in on me. Parking- street parking on a Saturday super packed. Managed to find a spot and only need to walk a short way. I would say this is wheel chair accessible, they have double doors that could fit a wheel chair through, however seating is another topic Seating: not a whole lot. I was able to find 1 sest at the window bar area. I wouldn't call the inside wheel chair accessible due to limited space. So if you're getting a drink here, to-go is the best option. I didn't ask for wifi, and it wasn't offered. Music playing in the background was enjoyable. Not too loud and I wouldn't exactly call it pop music which was a delightful...
