Been coming here since they opened and have noticed the staff becoming less generous in their portion sizes the last few times I visited. Tonight I ordered two of their frozen yogurts, one with baklava and honey for my mom and another for myself without the baklava and honey. When the older man who works there handed them to me I noticed that the plain yogurt had significantly less than the one with baklava so I asked him to please top it off. He was resistant, stating that they were “packed down” but went on to do it anyway. He proceeded to fill the cup up really full, decided it was too full I guess, then stored it down in the freezer, I imagine for him and the rest of the staff to enjoy later. He filled up a new cup for me that had EVEN LESS yogurt than the first one. Unbelievable, never experienced such thoughtless, spiteful customer service. If the manager reads this, please retrain your staff in customer satisfaction. It’s not too difficult to pull a handle down in one quick motion and make a...

After waiting for a table at Nick’s on 2nd for over an hour for a birthday dinner, we decided to get a snack at Nick The Greek first, and they single-handedly made our evening. We ordered Nick’s Fries with chicken gyro (pictured) to share, and it was delicious! The meat was tender and well-seasoned, while the fries were crispy and fresh. The manager was also nice enough to give us a free sample of their frozen yogurt since it was our first time there! We had such a great experience here that we decided to forego our plans with Nick’s on 2nd (who never called us back about our table, anyway) and get some pita wraps to go. Those were of the same high quality as the loaded fries, and were equally delicious! We will absolutely come back here when we’re craving...

Food was really good, place is nice. Tables were semi-clean.

Only issue is the elderly workers had no problem accommodating a "certain" race of people over another. I notice everyone who did not look like me had their food delivered to thier table (including my friend) while I had to get up and get my food at the counter, we both PAID prior to seating and I TIPPED.

Not to mention, while at the counter the elderly male didn't even want to slide my food to me; but had no issue delivering my friend's food 5 mins before my food (I had a gyro, she had a bowl) and commented on my dog.

Oh they allow dogs, but I am pretty sure if I ask "are dogs allowed?" instead of my friend asking for me, we would have...

I recently had the chance to visit several Greek restaurants in Long Beach with my friend @excusemeareyougreek and got the chance to try his favorite things from each spot. We first started at George’s on 2nd (@georgeson2nd) in Belmont Shore. They’re the last remaining George’s Greek that’s still owned by the family—and the thing to get here are the lamb chops. We got eight of them with a side of garlic fries. Thanasi likes them medium-well as they’re less gamey. Delish! Next, we went to Nick the Greek (@longbeachgreekrestaurant) which is a fast casual Greek restaurant, also in Belmont Shore. The move here is the Pork Gyro Pita, which Thanasi tells me is the more traditional Greek pita—the other variations are Greek-American. And if you’re looking for dessert, the Greek yogurt with baklava is delightful. Lastly, we went to Pita Pitaki (@pitapitaki) which is located in the Cal Heights area of Long Beach. They have a lot of traditional Greek dishes including moussaka, pastitsio, and youvetsi. Thanasi’s go-to is the Half Greek Lemon Chicken plate. The rotisserie’d chicken is extremely tender and doused in a lemon sauce. Also, dessert here is mandatory. The ekmek kataifi is a must try!
