Osaka story — Restaurant in Long Beach

Wow!! Just wow. When I say I never write reviews, I never do. Something has to be either real bad or real good in order for me to write a review. But this place 100% deserves its praise.

Typically, to find a good sushi place in this district is almost impossible. And I orginally went to eat at the restaurant next door but they were fully booked. So my fiancé and I saw this place right next door and out of desperation to save our date night, we decided to give it a try regardless of how skeptical we were about the sushi in this district…

Right away the second you enter the restaurant, employees instantly make you feel not just welcomed, but wanted but everyone stopping what they’re doing to greet you. Never experienced this at a restaurant so it caught me off guard but made me feel good.

Very knowledgeable and patient servers (for those who are new to eating sushi) A reasonable wait time for the food And the food itself was incredibly delicious. Typically with sushi I either dislike it or love it, I’m that picky about sushi. And these people here are one for the very few in LA county who do it right.

Osaka Story deserves every one of these five stars! The Mango Tango Roll dazzled our taste buds with bursts of flavor, and perfectly complemented the insanely tasty Crispy Rice appetizer. An absolute must have to start the meal off right. While the Spicy Edamame added just the right amount of kick to the meal. The service is always impeccable. The food comes out fast, served by a friendly staff that makes us feel right at home. They always greet us exuberantly as we walk through the door and recognize our familiar faces. We ate at Osaka Story for the first time on a whim tonight and it didn’t disappoint! We had the Albacore Surprise Roll, yellowtail roll and blue crab roll. All of them were great. I requested scallions/green onions on my yellowtail roll and they did it without a problem. The owner was so warm and welcoming. She stopped at our table to talk to us and tell us a little about the restaurant (she owns it with her brother and husband, she had another sushi restaurant for 15+ years and they only source and sell super fresh fish) It’s incredible what great customer service can do.
