I had an appointment to register a new vehicle, switch plates around from an older vehicle to the new one, get new plates for the older vehicle, and renew a registration. What a pleasant and quick experience! I was invited right in, and since I was more than 5 minutes before my appointment time the kind woman at the door volunteered to check me in herself 5 minutes before my appointment time and deliver my number later. As I waited we all were forced to listen to an older gentleman giving employees a hard time about the RTD tax that he said he didn't remember voting on. They were so kind and professional despite his repeated "I'm so angry!" and "Taxation without representation!" charade, parked at a window the entire time I was there blocking others from being served. DMV employees are not the right people to complain to, and it was highly unfair to the long line of walk-ins outside in 90+ degree heat. I'm on the young side of middle aged but appreciated the indoor seating immensely as I have a skin condition (almost completely obscured by my long clothing) that would have made waiting outside that day in the heat...
