Ollie's Bargain Outlet — Local services in Longview

I always love a good bargain, and I really want to love this store, but they cannot keep it together. When the store first opened, it was a mess, and a bit chaotic. I overlooked it because they were still trying to get settled. For a short time this past year, there was improvement. Someone was running the store much better, and seemed to be cleaning it up, but that was short lived. In the last several months, when I've gone in, the place is in disarray. The floors are filthy. Many of the aisles and shelves are pouring over, and unorganized. The last two times I was in there, one as recently as a week ago, I saw mouse turds in several areas of the food section, and the pet section. A time prior to that, I actually saw a mouse. A few times while shopping, there was a horrible smell of ruined food in the grocery section. Clearly the staff wasn't bothered by this enough to investigate, find the source, and clean it up. The bathroom tends to stay a mess as well. While in there last week, one of the two toilets was disgusting, and according to the paper on the wall, the bathroom had not been checked/tended to in at least 3 days. This store offers a random variety of things at reasonable prices, but someone really needs to step in and do some clean up.

Update The store has been shut down for a few weeks. They just reopened, and it appears they spent that time cleaning and getting things back in order. It seems they finally took the rodent problem seriously because all traces of food related items, even dog treats are gone! From what I could tell they tossed all food items, cleaned the space, and are starting fresh. Overall, the place was much improved. We'll see how things go once they get...

Had an aweful experience for my first time in this store!!! I am new to Texas and saw the store and asked my bf. If we could go inside and look so we sweep in just to browse filling up our cart well a manager Mike store in Longview tx 281 loop, comes around the corner to instruct us that they were closed, we said ok ty. (Side note) I’ve worked as a general manager as a key holder and as a cashier in all my time I’ve never been told to go around to costumers tell them that’s enough shopping you have to make your way to the front! I was always told to lock the front allow them customer to finish shopping and finish your nightly shut down. But no not Mike!!! He came and Corrald us up and told us to go to register 1. When we asked could we finish grabbing our items he said no you have to leave ??? Customers being told not to shop!?? So we said alright and mike was right on our heels behind us at one point I tripped over my bf because of how close he was. Like I said I HAVE NEVER!! 👎👎 bad first experience at Ollie’s....

First time going. Some good bargains. Found what I really went in to look for and found a couple of other bargains. The store is large but need some organization and tidying up. I guess like most bargain discount stores you have to someetimes dig to find what you are looking for.

My biggest complaint is the checker did not wear her mask. Mask are required and signs are posted on the front indicating that. I found almost all customers had them on ( I saw one man without one) but I completely expected to see the checker with one on and was shocked when I checked out and she had it down around her chin. NOT OVER HER MOUTH/NOSE. I would have given a better rating if she had been wearing...
