Hollywood Soul — Hotel in Los Angeles

The good is that one of the two houses is renovated inside and out. They are both reasonably clean. Most of the houses are reasonably clean. The location is great if you want thai restaurants, thai market/shop, armenian bakeries, and a pizzeria that has all you can eat buffet lunch. Theres A/C, the best pillows and covers are all comfie and good quality.

The bad is... While check out is 11am and is industry standard, check in is 5pm and they took an extra 30min to actually give me a bed. Industry standard for a checkin is more like 2pm, 1-3pm. The price on booking.com was an amazing $17/night but when i asked to extend the manager/owner replied $40/night. There were only two wall plugs to recharge my phone. Proper hostels setup each bed with electricity access and this one had 6 bed per room. the fridge in the nicer house had a lot of those dead little flies. Based on the notes, the fridge is cleaned once a week. After one night i got about 40 bug bites. Yeah, i got burning sensations all over my body and in the last 7 years of staying at hostels i have never had such an awful experience. No supermarkets within walking distance.

Around 9am the manager/owner came into the room I am in and is looking for something, not trying to be loud, but also not trying to be quiet. Talking at normal volume for example, instead of hushed. Some people were still in bed, maybe trying to sleep. At 10am she came in and asked me if I am extending, I said no, she may have been shocked by my answer because she asked me again, i said no, and she said check out is at 11am. She also sent me a text asking me if i want to extend shortly before. So honestly, that all felt creepy and it felt like she wanted me to leave before 11am. I will...

Unfortunately, our experience with this place was terrible. We booked a room for two people, but when we arrived, we were told there was no room available. In hindsight, this turned out to be a blessing — because what we found was truly shocking.

The place is a complete scam. A man, clearly under the influence of some substances, opened the door. The house was in an awful state — dirty, smelling horribly, filled with alcohol bottles, and looking like a complete mess. Eventually, it turned out that there was a room, but it was apparently “for someone else.” When we saw it, it looked terrifying and completely unfit for any guest.

What did you like about the property? I booking room but when arrived no room available for me. It was cheated. I booked a private room with a private bathroom, but when I got there, the person who was taking care of me was like another guest. He said "the room that you booking was full. Are you interested in moving to another branch of ours?" I didn't go because it was far. He offered me a room cheaper small room and share bathroom. The one I booked and he would refund me the difference.
