I have never felt such a sexist demeaning response from any GameStop as much as I have in this one. I’m aware that my pro membership is expired and I will be keeping it that way but this location will not take no for an answer, so as the employee continues to interrupt me as I say “absolutely not” to which they say ok and then continue their speech makes me not want to set foot in the store ever again. I dread checking out at this point. As a former employee I know how this company works and the employees are not there to help you but salesmen meant to upsell as much as possible. My membership is under my name and I’m speaking yet the employees continuously address my male partner rather than listening to me. They do not know what they have up for pre-order at any given time to the point where I ask an employee (Luis, it says on the receipt) to preorder an amiibo he says no they don’t have it and that I’m wrong except moments later he finds it, doesn’t apologize of course though. Finally the same employee proceeds to take the plush I’m buying and puts it on something dirty to remove the security tag so it’s now stained when I just checked it over to make sure it was clean. Read moreCame in to buy my kids a couple games as a reward for their academic achievements. We ended up picking two game and went to check out. I was help by BRETT on May 31, 2024 @ 8:00pm. He scan my games and like all employees try to upsale me on memberships and credit cards which I decline both time. After checking out I thankfully check my receipt and saw that he automatically charge himself two game warranties which I was never ask for. After asking for my refund BRETT decides to rip my original receipt. After asking for my original receipt of purchase for my two games. He try to tell me that he couldn’t give me a receipt and that the original purchase wasn’t in the system. I insisted I needed my receipt for my purchases he then suggested for me to now return my games and he can repurchase . Which was another 5 minute delay as he was struggling with the system. Staff is always rude and actively avoid helping customers unless they are hounded down (not just from personal experience). Merchandise is ALWAYS dirty or boxes are dented. You place a preorder or a pick up? Don’t expect to get any preorder bonus you were hoping for even if you were first in line AND expect your preorder to be dirty or damaged as well. If you’re a girl, avoid this gamestop because male staff refuse to even acknowledge you asking questions about a console or game, AGAIN this not just being from personal experience. To top it all off get ready to be talked down to for getting anything that can be clocked as “girly” by both male and female staff.
