Used for Day 1: Universal (crowded! rides are short for loooong waits 45-70mins) but the park is set up nicely and enjoyed the setting; saw Mario Lopez taping live, Day 2: 6-Flags (highly recommended for ride folks - world's first 4-dimensional coasters, no lines (15 mins max on most popular rides) and the rides can last 3.5 minutes (of terror in some cases!) mid-week, late July, and Day 3: midday Long Beach Whale Watch cruise (saw dolphins only but tour saw whales day before. Larger boat was clean and enjoyable, big waves did cause a few of us to be slightly nauseous, just depends on your sea legs!). We also took in the Aquarium next door and petting sharks and manta rays of various sizes which was highly addictive! (validated 1/2 price $8 vs $16 parking showing parking pass to either Aquarium of Boat Desk). Not enough time to take in Queen Mary on the other side, closeby, before (4:30 entry time on pass I heard, not confirmed even though 5:30PM is last entry time for most venues). There's a shuttle bus from Aquarium to Qn Mary if you have time. I would suggest taking the earliest cruise, 8 or 9AM as it's 3 hrs long, then the Aquarium and over to Qn Mary that stays open until 10PM or so as you get one free tour with pass. Other areas are accessible without additional cost, like the cocktail bar and restaurant to enjoy sunset.
Also since 6 Flags is so amazing for it's rides and ease of getting around, but not so huge that you can't go back and fore to rides, although makes sense to start at back of park and work forward; I would suggest doing Universal Studios before 6 Flags experience because the rides are so phenomenal you won't be disappointed (as we were) with the long waits for short rides at Universal having attending 6-Flags before. Get your thrill ride experiences at 6-Flags and be rewarded with the longer more intense rides there. I didn't find it any quicker to pre-buy my $20 parking pass online for 6-Flags either as there was no signed for pre-bought passes to get through line (could be wrong) and it costs a few $ more to process online vs charging it while there going through booth.
Pass is Easy to use once you have correct information! I began panicking that we had to use the 3-Day pass in 3 consecutive days. That is incorrect, as you have 3 days within 2 wks to use the pass in LA. I called CSvc and was misinformed by agent that it was indeed 3 consecutive days and since we were about to use the passes it meant re-arranging schedules to accommodate since we were planning to space activities out. I even asked to speak to a supervisor to re-clarify the information, took my # since they were unavailable at time and never received a phone call back. I tried calling again the next day and was re-assured this time by the agent and he checked the City location to make sure; LA is not a city requiring 3 days consecutive use -- of course makes since given it's span of valid locations and traffic, but sometimes good deals seem to be just that, too good a deal to be true.
We bought 14 passes on a group rate and they are refundable within a year if not used. I would recommend these passes, but plan ahead to fit in as much as you can in a day. One Caveat: sometimes there are online passes for mid-week that are cheap, like $38 for 6-Flags so account for possibly paying out of pocket for those passes and use Go-Pass for more expensive, non-discounted entries. Forgot to look at the small print and we shopped like fiends at The Citadel luxury outlets and there was an additional coupon book we could of got had we shown our passes at the...
Read moreDefinitely not worth the money paid. The problem with LA is that it's so big so although a lot of activities are available using the pass, the chances of you getting your money worth are quite slim.
We knew this and only bought the pass for 3 things - universal studios, Warner bros studio tour & the hop on hop off bus. Buying the pass worked out a better price than booking separately and we thought if we had time we may be able to use some other activities on the pass to save further money.
However, on the full day we had planned to use the hop on hop off bus tour, despite the busses saying they were running every 30 mins, we turned up to a stop and were stood waiting for ages. We eventually found and asked someone working for the bus service as there was no one at the stand and he advised that the next bus would be in 3 hours, by this time the bus back would no longer be running as the service finished at 4pm. We ended up paying around $100 for Ubers to visit locations on the route that the bus tour should have been taking.
Therefore, we only actually used the pass for universal studios and Warner bros tour which would have worked out at just under $190. We ended up paying $240 for the pass plus the $100 on transport that we should be been able to use the bus tour for. Instead of saving money, we actually spent a lot more trying to use this pass.
Although it looks like you're potentially getting a good deal, the size of LA makes it near enough impossible to maximise the activities on the pass and if anything isn't running or available, then it's completely not worth it at all. You would be better booking separately and not trying to rush to fit...
Read moreBooked the 3 day inclusive pass for LA for 3 of us, first two days nice and easy, got to an attraction today to use it and it was coming us saying invalid. My partner called go city and we were told that because we prebooked the Warner bro tour (which it says that you must do this) that it classed as one of our days just from prebooking. The agent we spoke to on the phone said there was was nothing that could be done despite us sending proof of our flights etc as we weren’t even in country the day they were trying to say that our pass was used. Not only this but the t&c of the pass say that the pass is to be used 13 days after the first use, and the date they were saying we had used it was 16 days before we first officially used the pass, so if we had gone to the attraction like they tried saying then it wouldn’t have allowed us to check into attractions on the two days that we did actually use it We then received a call 3 hours later where we were told this issue had been fixed, Imagine our embarrassment when we went to scan at an attraction with our autistic son to be told that the passes were invalid. Making him have a sensory overload as we had to leave the aquarium as it was fully booked so we couldn’t even pay the entry fee!
So paid all this money, for a 3 day pass, to only get two days and then be told it had been fixed when it hadn’t.
Complete disappointment, shockingly bad customer service and charging for a service that they won’t provide 100%
After paying almost $700 dollars for the three passes you’d expect them to provide what you pay...
