I decided to go to Kc Beauty because it was the most affordable. There's pros and cons. Pros you MIGHT get a good teacher, I got an amazing instructor but it was very short lived. There's another teacher there Ms.Julia who I believe is still there and she's great. Another pro is you MIGHT make some good friends. Now the cons, the staff can be really weird sometimes. I had a weird experience with Wendy she would often say rude condescending comments like if I'm not an adult with two kids just trying to make a career for myself. The student kit was not worth it to me personally it was very over priced for cheap stuff I would've rather bought stuff myself. There education is just us reading out loud together. I hardly learned anything and I would've rather studied alone which I had to do to prepare for my test at the end. They treat you like you're a kid in middle school at times and I thought that was really bizarre. Also don't expect them to help you find a job all the job listings they give you at the end are outdated and you won't get hired at any. Last con is they are super cheap when it comes to certain things everything's old broken and the facials we do are so repetitive and basic you won't learn much about how things are in the real world. I don't feel like they prepare you at all for the real world and a lot of people don't make it passed school. Some of the teachers I had , had this weird know it all all attitude and were often reminding us that we were not licensed for no reason. To me the cons outweigh the pros but I still got what I needed from the school which...
Read moreGroupon offers very cheap student service. I booked an appointment for keratin treatment & haircut. I showed them the pictures referring what I wanted. I permanently straightened my hair last October, I just needed to smooth the roots.
Absolutely hate the haircut. I was laughing after leaving that place because I was in utter shock how ugly my hair is looking. Ever since I got back home, I can’t stop crying. I am contemplating whether I should shave my head.
• They did not comprehend what I wanted based on the pictures I showed them. • The student did my hair, kept hitting my ears with the sharp brush. I came home with red ears. Now it’s scabbing. She kept saying “sorry” then repeating the same thing. • It’s too short for my taste but I was okey until the instructor started to do a 180 degree Guided cut. Before even I realized what he was doing, it was too late for me to say anything. • I felt like a guinea pig when they started to cut it section by section. • my appointment was at 10:30am, I got there by 10:23am and I didn’t have to wait but the whole thing ended 2:15pm.
I am so devastated and disgusted with the result. I might cover my hair until it grows back to certain lengths.
I had a facial done in the past & the experience was extremely pleasant so I went back and regretting for the haircut I received. Front desk was really helpful But personally I would not recommend this...
Read moreDo not waste your time or money at KC Beauty. You get what you paid for. Groupons and clients are more important than the students. The school is unprofessional, unclean, and completely disorganized from top to bottom.
The building is near Skid Row, and the area constantly has trash, foul smells, and even human waste right outside. It’s not a safe or sanitary environment for students or clients. Inside isn’t much better — the bathrooms and classrooms are dirty, equipment is broken, and the space feels more like a warehouse than a beauty school.
Students are often sent home early without notice, and the school floods your email with hundreds of pointless messages instead of providing proper instruction. You might only learn half of what you’re supposed to, because there’s no structure or supervision. The staff are rude and dismissive, making it nearly impossible to get help or feedback.
This school needs an immediate state board inspection. It’s unsanitary, unorganized, and fails to meet the basic standards of a professional learning environment.
Once again, save your...
