I began working with Karen at Ricardo Basta while searching for the perfect engagement ring. I was referred to Karen by a friend, and although I had an idea of what it is I wanted, Karen really helped me bring the vision into focus. I could almost sense immediately that I was in good hands and would be taken care of. Karen was diligent, patient, and incredibly thoughtful throughout the entire process. I never felt like like I was being “sold” to go in any particular direction when discussing ideas with Karen which for me is important and appreciated. I spent months working with Karen to find the right stone and eventually we found it! She designed a gorgeous ring and I was blown away by the finished product. Today my fiancé is obsessed with her ring! I returned to Karen to design our eternity bands. We had a fantastic experience with Ricardo Basta and Kat, who helped us at every point. We wanted to use our grandparents’ rings, but they needed a lot of work. They were able to restore my ring and make it look brand new, far surpassing my expectations for what a 70 year old ring could look like. My husband’s ring was more complicated because it was too big to be resized, but they worked with us and came up with creative solutions, which ended with them making a new ring using some of the material of the old ring, and making a beautiful pendant out of the rest of the ring. Kat, at Ricardo Basta, was no less than amazing to work with! Thanks to her we were able to create a custom engagement ring that dazzled my, now-fiance ;) the ring featured two metals; platinum band with gold filigree, as well as, a creatively executed double halo of multicolored diamonds that came out quite original in its design. Kat drew up the sketches by hand, set accurate expectations, and lent honest feedback throughout the 3D modeling process to get the final ring to a perfect finish.
