I've been looking for a stylist ever since I moved to CO almost 3 years ago. I like having constant people for things like hair, nails, waxing, etc. and have found pretty much awesome people for everything except hair thusfar. I saw all the amazing reviews for Em for long hair and thought, awesome, I think I've found her! Not so much...
I went in for a trim as I've been trying to grow my hair. I came in and Em was in the back so I had to wait, but only a few minutes. She came out and brought me to her station and I told her exactly what I was looking for. She was cold and bordering on unfriendly even. I was immediately uncomfortable. I don't need to be bestest with my hair stylist, but some amount of warmth is appreciated. Maybe she was having an off day and she's not usually like that, but that's the Em I got.
From the time I sat I left my car to the time I got back into it, only 25 minutes had past. Em managed to do a consult, wash my hair, cut it, blow dry it, and have me pay all in 25 minutes. All for the price of about $60. The cut wasn't bad, I will say that, but it could have been better, seeing as how I still had a some split ends in my layers when I went home really got a good look at my hair.
I recently received an email stating that due to some additional certification she's received, Em's prices have been raised, so expect to pay more than $60 for a cut and blow dry.
Needless to say I will not be returning and my search for a long hair stylist in Colorado shall continue.
Looking back on all the good reviews on Em and I notice that a VERY large portion of them are from yelpers who have written less than 5...
Read moreClementine is the kind of neighborhood gem that doesn’t try to dazzle you with flash—it just quietly serves some of the best food in Los Angeles, and lets the flavors speak for themselves. The atmosphere is basic, almost cafeteria-style inside, with no frills and minimal fuss. But step out onto the patio and it’s a different story: a sweet, shaded spot that feels like a local secret, even when it’s packed with regulars.
Now let’s talk food, because that’s where Clementine shines like few places do. Nearly everything on the menu is a standout, from their daily soups and seasonal salads to the pastries that are baked in-house and feel like something your (very talented) aunt might make. But the real showstopper? The Turkey Caliente sandwich. It’s smoky, spicy, melty, and hands-down one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had anywhere. It somehow manages to be rich and comforting but not heavy—just totally dialed in.
Coffee is excellent—strong, smooth, and made with care. The service is warm and efficient, even during a busy lunch rush. And unlike a lot of trendy cafés, there’s zero attitude. The staff knows their stuff and seems genuinely happy you’re there.
Clementine also does incredible breakfast sandwiches, house-made jams, and next-level baked goods (the scones and banana chocolate chip muffins are basically famous if you know, you know). It’s the kind of place where you can come in jeans or yoga gear, sit outside with a friend or a laptop, and just feel well-fed and taken care of.
No gimmicks. Just great food, good people, and a menu that feels like it was crafted with love. Clementine is what every café wants to be, but very few...

My bf and I came to Clementine on a Saturday morning around 11 am and it looked packed from the front. Parking was a breeze since there was a parking lot in the back with a few spots. Perhaps we got lucky but I can imagine the lot filling up pretty quickly as the brunch/lunch crowd trickles into the afternoon.
My bf ordered the eggs benedict with a side of arugula salad ($12) and I ordered the whole grain bran muffin with dried cherries ($3). We both ordered a cup of the house Intelligentsia coffee ($3). The food came out very promptly and the eggs benedict was spot-on! The hollandaise sauce complimented the perfectly poached egg and the slice of Tennessee country ham. The ham was unlike anything I've tried before; it was savory and not fatty in the least bit.
Like the eggs benedict, my bran muffin was delectable. I was surprised to see the top of mine covered in crunchy granola and would like to think that I had the best of both worlds for brunch: crunchy granola and a soft muffin. Win-win for the carbs! The muffin was not too sweet and the plump dried cherries made it extra moist.
The Intelligentsia coffee for me was nothing special. I've had Intelligentsia coffee elsewhere and the acidic after taste is not something I particularly care about. However, it's great that Clementine will offer free refills and not charge extra for soy milk. Some extra brownie points should be deservedly given.
Bottom line: I would love to come back and sample some of their other brunch items. That apricot ginger...
