Sport's Foot Massage — Local services in Los Angeles

I’ve been coming here for massage for the past 10 years. It has always been a wonderful experience. Great massage, very professional & friendly staff. They’ve changed ownership relatively recently. The staff & the quality of service continues to be great…until today. I had an older woman as my massage therapist. She was ok though the massage was weak. During the massage, she started suggesting other services & listing the different prices. Absolutely annoying when you’re trying to relax. When the massage was complete, I went to the counter to both tip her & to pay. I tipped her what I thought the massage was worth..just over 15%. She told me that it was not enough of a tip & that minimum was $20 for “good” service. She then pointed to a sign indicating this. $20 was well over 20% gratuity. Sadly, after 10 years, I will not be returning to this place. Between her demand for a higher tip, that I did not feel she deserved, the suggestive selling during the massage and the overall mediocrity, I see no reason to give this establishment my business nor my recommendation. My massage, the combo, for $40 was absolutely amazing!!! I went in with a 3 month old sprain and horrible backache due to limping and compensating on one leg. My masseuse guy was so attentive to where I was pointing out my pains and aches. He went above and beyond to help me feel better paying extra attention to those spots but it's like he knew and could probably feel them too! I left there on cloud 9 feeling 100xs better! No more back pain and my foot feeling much better. It was my first time there. I used my yelp community to find them and grateful to have taken a chance on then. I took my Mom who equally loved her massage. She is recovering from a broken wrist and her guy was very attentive too. All our knots were removed! We are going back every month! There is a small parking lot but free parking. Cash tips but debit/credit for everything else is good. I hope this helps someone else in need! Oh the place is super clean and cute inside. This is my go to place. I’ve been in a lot of pain, and this place always takes me at a moments notice. The massages I have received have been strong and to the point. I prefer the male massagers bc of their strength, and I prefer the woman to do my cupping since it requires me to have my shirt off. This place is no fluff, it saves my life though. I went there recently I was in so much pain it was hard for me to walk, when I left there I was able to stand up straight and walk normally. I still have some healing to do, but I’m so glad this place is here, it’s a true gem if you just need that strong back care without all the fluff.
