Let me start by saying: I have so much love and respect for The Players Lounge Barbershop. It’s more than just a place to get a haircut—it’s an experience, a vibe, and a community that always makes you feel like you belong.

At the center of that experience for me is my barber of 15 years, D. Green. D. Green is a living legend. One day, his clippers deserve to be bronzed and put on display—he’s that good. Hands down, he’s one of the best barbers in the city, maybe even the country. I say that without hesitation.

When I moved to LA from Philadelphia, I had the hardest time finding someone who could give me a proper fade, a clean edge-up, or shape a beard the right way. Then I found D. Green—back when he and the crew would be out front on Melrose, welcoming people with a smile and a handshake. Since then, I’ve followed him through a few shops, but The Players Lounge is by far the best.

The entire shop radiates positivity. Every barber is warm, friendly, and professional. Clients greet each other, crack jokes, dap each other up—and still, it’s also a place where you can just sit quietly, relax, close your eyes, and recharge. Whether you’re looking for laughs, therapy, or peace and quiet, you’ll find it here.

As for D. Green—his versatility is unmatched. Black hair, white hair, curly, straight, beards, fades—he knows how to cut every type of hair with precision and care. His attention to detail is impeccable. He’s reliable, accommodating, kind, and cool. That combo is rare in LA.

Honestly, I’ve been to plenty of shops in Philly—where the bar for barbers is high—and The Players Lounge holds its own with the best of them. If you want a guaranteed fresh cut, flawless beard work, and top-tier service in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, this is the spot.

When i first moved to LA (about 3 yrs ago), i was jumping from barber to barber, really trying to find that one place that i could consider my go-to spot. Finally, I check out this place called the Players Lounge, and got connected to Pooh and ever since then, the rest is history. 10/10 haircuts every time, and I mean EVERY time.
