I was referred to this facility for a necessary procedure by another doctor--in addition to a whole bunch of other surgeons, who I made it clear I was still in the process of meeting with when I went to surgery group LA. The surgeon I met with was fine, and answered all my questions. I booked a surgery time SIX MONTHS out, but let their office know there was a chance I might have to postpone or cancel. No problem, they said.
Before even going into the meeting with the surgeon, I asked the front office to run my insurance and they said I was covered with their office and just needed to submit my co-pay. I did, I paid it on the spot before I was taken back to meet with the doctor.
Fast forward one month and, due to a change in my schedule, I had to cancel. I called and canceled the procedure time (which, again, wasn't for SIX MONTHS). The woman on the phone acted so strange the whole time, asking me a bunch of questions -- why was I canceling, did I want to postpone, was I doing it somewhere else? Ummm... I'm sorry, none of your business. Just cancel the damn appointment.
Just a couple weeks later, I get a bill from Surgery Group LA - over $200 for the less than 15 minute office visit. What?! I called my insurance and they told me they hadn't been billed until just a couple weeks prior.... righhhhtttt around the time I would have canceled the surgery. I tried speaking to their billing office, they told me this was a "standard fee". If it's standard, why wasn't I made aware of it? Why didn't their front office inform me when I asked them about any fees and they made me pay a co-pay because I was "approved"? "Oh, you would have to ask the front office since they gave you that info". I tried calling the office and they wouldn't put me through to the woman who I had spoken to when I canceled, they told me I had to call back to billing. Back and forth, and they refused to take away the fee so I had to pay it in the end. Unbelievable, unprofessional, ridiculous. Would NEVER in a million years recommend this place, simply for their unprofessional childish...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreTerrible experience - made an appointment for 2 pm originally three weeks ago with this office. They call em the day before and say the doctor has to leave at 2 and that they asked if I can come in at 1 PM instead for a check in and a 1:15 PM appointment. Showed up at 12:55 and sat in the lobby until 1:40 PM not being seen by anyone, keep in mind THEY asked me to come earlier. I left my job and lost an hour of wages to sit in there lobby and watch people that came in after me, get seen and walk out the door before me. The recetionist had an attitude when I told her I needed to be back at work by 2 because I was told BY THEM my appointment would be done at 2. I finally just asked for a refund an left. So yea make an appointment with them if you want to waste your time, money, an hour of wages, gas, and pay $15 on top of all that to not...
