This is one of the smallest Farmers Market in LA. The Westwood Farmers Market used to be a few blocks long and really good but It has downsized quite a bit. It is only one block long with just a handful of produce farmers and a few other specialty item or prepared food stands. Though it is small it does have the basic essentials so you can certainly fulfill your produce needs, there just aren’t a lot of options to choose from. I LOVE the plums/pluot stand here, which is mainly why I come. They have at least 6 varieties of plums and plots (plum and apricot hybrid) and they’re so sweet and delicious. This stand also has great apple, peaches, nectarines, and citrus fruits when in season. Bolani and Sauce, the Afghan bread company, is also a favorite. They have delicious fresh and healthy stuffed middle eastern breads: spinach, pumpkin, lentil, potato. They also sell the best fresh sauces such as cilantro pesto, sweet jalapeño, mint goat cheese, and sundried tomato. Honestly, of the few sellers there are each stand has something really...
Read moreOne of my favorite Farmer's Markets in LA. It has great food and stands. The pupusas are a must, the Greek hummus and dips are amazing and the fruits and veggies are always fresh and great. They have some gluten free baked goods too and some amazing options to bring home for dinner. They always have fresh pressed juices and other great options for olive oils and fun stuff switching in and out too. The only downsides are A. It's in the middle of the day on a Thursday and B. The parking is hard and the garage gets full, if you do get lucky there's a parking garage that offers 2 hours free and there is street parking. If you shop at Whole Foods there is a lot but they don't share with the market so don't get caught. However I love Westwood Village it's a great place to walk around for lunch or to have an afternoon and their Market isn't crazy crowded so you can actually enjoy it with great vendors too. If you can get there or go on a lunch break or at the end of your day...
Read moreThis rating is only for one vendor, Arnett Farms. I've been coming to Westwood Village Farmers Market almost every week. I like the variety of fruit Arnett Farms has to sample and sell. On this day, Thursday, I sampled a few morsels using the toothpicks provided, which most customers do anyway. Yet, one staff person there, repeatedly, told me to take a new toothpick each time I sampled any fruit, which I did. This staffer from what I witnessed, didn't do so to other customers, aside from telling 3-4 girls, to use toothpicks. He did not tell them to use a new toothpick when sampling the varieties of fruit. When I went to sample other fruit, this person again singled me out saying to use a new toothpick, yet never said same to other customers. I replied to this person saying "you doing this to others as well"? He gave no reply. I have reported this vendor to Westwood Village Farmers Market based solely on the behavior of this one Arnett...
