Once upon a time, this was an amazing art show. But, over the years, it has become chaos. This year's show was so tightly overcrowded that it was close to impossible to get around. Navigating was difficult because the organizers only provided a digital map that you had to use on your phone, but its details were so minimal (no vendor booth locations, no landmarks for orientation, etc.) that it was useless. The variety of vendors appeared to have diminished, and there were a large number of vendors who were clearly selling mass produced imports, not artist made items. This show needs to be moved to a larger venue, the vendors must be actual artists (not foreign goods importers), and the variety of art categories must be increased. We've been going to this art fair for years, but this year might be the last time -- it was...

The Number 1 art show in the USA last year, there is a ton of really great stuff to see. And more than a day’s worth. St. James is the hub, but the rest of the area is very involved and it seems like each of the neighboring communities expands the show every year.

And there is, of course food and drink for all ages. Comfortable shoes, sun or rain hat, jackets or fans - dress for the weather. The setting is beautiful. Lots of trees. Lots of historic buildings. Central Park. A couple of walking courts. And some really nice people making a living selling art.

Parking can be a chore, but you can ride your bike or take the bus and avoid the hassle. Lots of good restaurants are close if you need a break and a sit down meal before wading back in. It’s a three day show so check the weather and block...

Although I would love to give the show five stars, I cannot. Unfortunately, a racist comment from an artist (suggesting that my wife, because she is Asian, would try to copy, counterfeit, and sell her work), ruined our day. I reported the incident to authorities immediately, and thereafter, formally detailing it in writing via email. The form-letter type response I received didn't make it clear that anything was really done about it. My wife and I were (and still are) very insulted, and we will not return! Very disappointing this is to happen in my own hometown or anywhere! While the Art Fair itself would be a five-star event, this incident, along with the management's response (to the extent that it was explained) makes it a zero-star...

Parking was $10 around and traffic seemed a little crazy so beware(it's tight in Old Louisville). Went to the Louisville Unfair behind Magnolia Bar first and this is a hidden gem. Super rad local art, jewelry, clothes, pins, glass blowing, and much more. St. James Court was nothing I have ever been to in Old Louisville. My girlfriend and I chatted with some amazing artists from places like New Orleans and Atlanta. I bought a print from an older woman who had stories for every one of her paintings and drawings and I believe her name was Trixie. On another note, beer was $6-$8 at the least and food trucks were nothing special from some that I saw.

A great show!! The weather was perfect and the venue as always was amazing. Walking along the tree lined streets are shady and so lovely. The old Victorian homes are so stately and majestic. But the things that made it especially great was the many really good food booths they have. I have been coming here for 50 years and back when there were not many good food booths.. so glad it has changed. And of course the artisans!! So many talented artists to admire.
