The last straw. I’ve been a loyal customer for over 25 years. I just moved all my prescriptions to CVS. I have an expensive Rx that's tricky to fill and process through insurance. I've tried to pick it up twice this week but only one person knows how to ring it up so it won't cost me $1,200. I went Tuesday to pick it up and tried to explain the coupon to Sarah. She didn't listen and kept trying my insurance and GoodRx (not a GoodRx coupon) and then told me I'd have to come back in the morning because she had already gone above and beyond trying to get it to work. She and the pharmacist told me that someone would be in Wednesday that could ring it up correctly. So I went back Wednesday. Once again, no one could ring it up correctly. The cashier (who kept sucking on her fingers, didn't get her name) told the pharmacist (different one from Tuesday) that she couldn't find the prescription anywhere. So the pharmacist told me they didn't even have it in stock. I told them it was in the fridge. Cashier told pharmacist that she doesn't know how to get stuff out of the fridge (you can't make this up). Pharmacist gets it out of the fridge and tosses it on the counter next to his computer. He tries for 30-40 minutes to figure it out. Told me that the last time I was there I paid 1200 cash for it. No, I didn't and you'd think I would remember something like that. Finally he told me I'd have to come back in the morning. I asked if he was sure someone would be there who could figure it out. He didn’t answer, just told me to come back. I could tell he was dismissing me, so I turned and walked out. Drove straight to CVS and asked them to pull all my prescriptions from Walgreens. ALL. Sadly, this is not the first encounter I've had like this, with these same people, but it is my last. I'm done.
The folks at CVS at 2222 Bardstown Rd are great! 5 stars! Great attitude, super helpful, responsive, better hours. Would...
Read moreI’ve been using this pharmacy for 6 years but will not be returning after today. I arrived right before open so that I was able to make it to my job on time, only to find the drive thru was closed due to a mechanical issue. Not a huge deal so I went inside and waited… 10 min after the listed open time, the counter was still not open, and no employees were there to explain what was going on. I called their automated system and was sent in circles while they state that the pharmacy is open (though I clearly see it isn’t). Finally I find a regular store employee and he says the pharmacist is out and it will be open when he is back but they have no way of knowing when. Again, no signs or explanations were posted, and I left so I could make it to work on time. An hour later I get a Walgreens text saying the pharmacy is closed temporarily (a notice too little too late). On my lunch I decide to try again since I am in desperate need of these meds and actively contagious with COVID. Again I have to go in and wait in line, with only one pharmacy employee at the counters. I see person after person be told there rx isn’t ready, but the tech doesn’t even try to have someone else fill it for the people actively waiting in person. Finally I get to the counter where the man is short with me and rude. As I expected, he explains that only one rx is ready. Due to my illness I’m only concerned about the one I’m immediately in need of, not the monthly one… so I ask IS IT THE COUGH SUPPRESSANT, to which he responds YES. He rushes me through and it isn’t until I reach my work (off my lunch break) that he gave me an rx that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH COVID, SORE THROAT, OR COUGH. So here I am for the 3rd time today, forced to go back and around my work schedule and beg for the meds I am desperately in need of. I’m incredibly frustrated with how the entire situation has been handled and will be finding a...
Read moreI have been using the Walgreens at Baxter Ave for years and have been very satisfied with the service, however, a gentleman called last night and left a message to see how I was doing on a new medication. I did not call back and got busy this morning,, but he called again today. Turns out he is the chief pharmacist at this branch and his name is Amanuel. Well, to say that I was taken aback and very impressed would be an understatement. I told him how thankful I was for him taking the time to make an effort, not once, but twice to follow-up. He was very kind, professional and courteous. You could tell by the way he spoke, he was truly a good person and interested in my well-being. He that kind of calm voice you would equate with a person dedicated to others...IOW's true healer. I don't mean to over do it here, but you don't see that type of care much these days, and I hope his professionalism is both recognized and appreciated by his employer. I am 68, and this is the fist time in my entire life, where a pharmacist has taken the time to check and initiate an unsolicited follow up....
