Highlands Tap Room is a lively spot thatâs perfect for a fun night out. It has a relaxed yet energetic vibe with an outdoor area that lets you enjoy the fresh air, plus a covered section if you prefer some shade. The crowd here is refreshingly diverse, from college-age patrons to folks in their 60s, giving it a welcoming, community feel. The atmosphere changes depending on the day, with weekends drawing in a bigger, more bustling crowd.
Drinks are decent, and as you get to know the bartenders, youâll find your favorites who really know how to mix a solid drink. A notable feature here is the security presence; youâre greeted at the door, and thereâs security mingling to keep an eye on things. It adds a sense of safety, so you can relax and focus on enjoying your time.
A quick tip: avoid parking at the Taco Bell nearbyâcars get towed at lightning speed! Overall, Highlands Tap Room is a solid hangout with a laid-back vibe, friendly patrons, and a commitment to keeping things...
Read moreI gave them 3 stars because you have to go inside to place your order and get your own drinks if you sit outside. We could've sit inside, but the ramp for her wheel chair is not easily accessible with all the chairs by the door. I have only experienced the nachos with bbq beef, and I must say IT'S SOOOOOOOO DELICIOUS. My co-workers get breakfast each time. I can say every time her bacon is always overcooked, but they are more than happy to make more. The drinks aren't really strong, so if you had a bad day, this is not the place for a kick axxxx drink. I would recommend Taco City drinks, but definitely not their food. I wouldn't really recommend take out for the Taproom nachos because it's not the same great taste putting everything together that comes in small individual cups. This is a small quaint place to relax and feel a good vibe inside or out. I may try other items on the menu, but for now, I'll stick with the bbq...
Read moreUsed to frequent this place quite often and decided to go back yesterday with some friends in town. We had the same female bar tender who had been there for years⌠I ordered a burger with add on fries and bacon. My burger came out about 15 minutes after the rest of the groups food came out and was so over cooked that it fell apart when I picked it up. Not a big deal, things happen. However, the bar tender rolled her eyes and walked away with my the plate when I expressed my dissatisfaction. When time came to close out, she brought me a non-itemized receipt (red flag). When I asked for a breakdown she rolled her eyes again and said I was getting charged for the add on fries and bacon, neither of which I ate and were taken away when I complained. One of the rudest service industry workers Iâve ever encountered. At that point I didnât even want to argue with her. Really sad as this used to be one of the better local spots...
