I went for a haircut with Amy a few days ago and was and am extremely disappointed with my service and experience. While, the trim was done decently, the experience as a whole was more than subpar. I believe when you go to a hair stylist/salon they should be able to fulfill the trifecta including a stellar hair washing, cut and blowout. I really think the blowout is quite an important skill to have mastered. You shouldn’t have to come with your hair already washed, because they don’t do a good job or make your hair feel clean, or go home and blowout your own hair because they aren’t able to achieve what you’re looking for. For the amount of money we women spend on our hair we should be able to be confident in knowing all 3 steps will be achieved and achieved WELL. We shouldn’t want to wash our hair for days after a salon visit so that we can sustain our salon style. Well, that was not the case here. The shampoo and blowout were AWFUL. I don’t know if it’s just me, but if I’m going to the salon and paying those prices I expect my hair to come out better than how I can do it at home. My hair and scalp were barely wet when I got one shampoo done and then after rinsing she went in with what I thought was a scalp massage paired with my second shampoo, but apparently that was the conditioner step, which barely touched my ends. The time my head was in the bowl was maybe 3 minutes and I have very long hair that I believe should get the standard 2 rounds of shampoo and a nice conditioner. So, right off the bat that was a disappointment. One of my favorite parts of a salon experience is getting my hair washed, my scalp massaged and my hair styled very well. I made it very clear I wanted volume with loose curls, which you can achieve with a roll brush and proper technique, of course. When she started to blow my hair out, which again, is long and has some curl to it, I thought it was a joke. She was barely putting the roll brush in my hair to achieve that sleek and shiny look. She was actually using the roll brush and brushing my hair down, which we all know makes the hair frizzy and flat. We all know what a proper blowout looks like and I was waiting for it to start and the trainwreck to end. I was hoping she was just trying to dry my roots and then she would begin sectioning off my hair and beginning the real blowout after. But, to my dismay she left it quite puffy, dull, frizzy and a bit wet and then proceeded to use a curling iron on the ends. I was seriously speechless how bad of job she did for someone that is apparently quite an advanced stylist. I seriously felt like a 5 year old was drying my hair.
Also, any question I asked her about my hair it almost felt like was a chore for her to answer.
Again, I do a WAY better job at blow drying my hair and I’m not a professional. Needless to say, I had to go home and shampoo my hair and blow it out myself, which is NOT what you want to do after just spending 80+ at a professional salon.
I am very disappointed in my experience and would definitely not recommend going or wasting your time, money nor efforts. The stylists should learn how to give a nice head washing experience and a good blowout. Maybe further training should be required, because sure, the cut is very important and again, was done pretty well, but I truly believe the other steps in the process are equally as important or else what are we paying for? I thought it was for an experience that should be better than what you can provide...
Read moreMy experience at this salon was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped in, I was warmly greeted, setting the tone for what turned out to be an incredible visit. What immediately caught my attention was their use of high-end products, particularly Kerastase, my absolute favorite. Locating a salon that offered Kerastase seemed impossible until now, and stumbling upon this gem was a game-changer for me.
Nawal, the stylist attending to me, did an incredible job cutting and styling my hair. Her expertise was evident, and she also recommended the Kerastase Fusio-Dose treatment, leaving my hair feeling and looking absolutely amazing. Their extensive inventory of Kerastase products was impressive, and what made the experience even better were their reasonable prices and the discounts offered. I ended up purchasing a few items that were highly recommended by Nawal, and I couldn't be happier.
Moreover, as a first-time visitor, they went the extra mile by providing a complimentary bag filled with free samples—an unexpected but delightful touch. Overall, the combination of exceptional service, top-notch products, and the friendly atmosphere makes this salon an absolute standout. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a fantastic hair...
Read moreAfter embracing my natural grays in my late 40s, I've loved my salt and pepper look for years. Recently though, the "salt" was starting to dominate, and I wasn't loving that. Enter Melissa at J Morgan Hair Salon North in Easton.
What sets Melissa apart is her attention to detail. When I explained that I wanted to maintain my salt and pepper but add more "pepper" back in, she knew exactly what to do. She used a lowlight technique and spent considerable time in the mixing room getting the color formula absolutely perfect. The result? My hair looks beautiful, shiny, and not artificially dark. Melissa is a gray blending wizard.
I love that I found someone who understands how to work with gray hair transitions without pushing for a complete color overhaul. I didn’t want something that was going to require maintenance, and Melissa delivered. If you're in a similar situation, I highly recommend visiting Melissa at J Morgan. She'll help you embrace your natural look while still making you feel your...
