Wow, I have been going to a lot of 24 hour fitnesses since I got my platinum membership, and I decided to try out the Lynwood facility because I was so excited that to hear that it was open 24 hours. Side note, I will say the front desk people were very friendly, so I was absolutely shocked to find the rest of the facility was in the trenches.
As soon I entered the woman’s locker room, the horror story that was my experience began. (Yes I am a woman, this email account is my friends) The smell of the woman’s locker room was like a straight sucker punch to my nose. Now, when I tell you my eyes widened like you wouldn’t believe when I looked down and saw the grime on the floor. It was like every person who’d ever stepped foot in that gym had come into the woman’s locker room to spit and snot all over the place until they finally achieved the build up they have now. There were stray hairs covering the benches, clogging the drains, and there were actual USED panty liners stuck to the inside half of the locker doors that I opened. How is that even possible? I seriously doubt anyone could have collected that many panty liners in once sitting, which means obviously this has been going on for a while.
Not only was this just appalling to experience just by yourself, it didn’t help that I had brought my friend with me, one that usually goes to Planet Fitness, but was kind enough to join me as my guest. However, after seeing the state of this gym (which I had hyped up) they said they won’t be coming back to any 24 hour fitness gym since Plant Fitness was WAYYY more clean. Truly embarrassing. Thanks a lot.
After promptly moving from the locker room section, my eyes were assaulted yet again by the restroom, showers and sink area. Not only was the ceiling legit crumbling and missing sections of itself like someone had fallen through, there were wires exposed that were coming out of the hole above the shower section. Where water is. How someone has not been electrocuted yet is beyond me.
I talked to a bunch of the woman in there and they said this place has been this way for over three months and even with their complaints, nothing has been fixed. Absolutely ridiculous. Shows you how much 24 hour fitness cares about its members.
Felt like they didn’t care about how their customers felt since they’ve clearly been ignoring all of the woman’s complaints about the state of their locker room. Please get that placed clean asap because it is truly disheartening to go in there.
Thank you, I hope my bad experience helped someone avoid their own
— the next part is an update a few months since my last review, nothing has changed at all. —
Now, if you’re still looking for a gym where you can tone your muscles and your immune system after the first part of this review, look no further. The girl’s changing room at this place is STILL a post-apocalyptic biohazard zone disguised as a fitness facility. Imagine walking into a steam room, only instead of eucalyptus and calm, you're hit with a warm slap of mildew, mystery fluids, and broken dreams.
The floors? Always wet. Not "someone just mopped" wet, more like "someone lost a fight with a bottle of self-tanner and a protein shake" wet. The benches are suspiciously sticky, the lockers smell like they’ve been puked on, and the showers? I’m not saying they’re sentient, but I did hear one whisper “leave while you can.”
More people have complained since my last review. Repeatedly. Loudly. In person. Over email. Through carrier pigeon. Nothing has changed. I’m convinced the management team’s entire maintenance plan is just spraying Febreze and praying for a miracle.
I come here to work out, not wage psychological warfare every time I need to change my shirt. Turns out the real workout was just surviving the locker room. I’ve seen less disturbing conditions in horror movies and gas station bathrooms.
I beg of you 24 hour fitness, please clean the...
Read moreTo start off I am going to be posting this under an anonymous account for personal reasons. I have been coming to this gym now for a little over a year, and I really did enjoy the cleanliness and welcoming arms of the staff here. Staff like Nao, Michael (who no longer works here), Andrew (who no longer works here), CJ, the gentleman with long black hair and stubble on his chin (can’t remember his name unfortunately) and a couple others have been very helpful and welcoming on my weight loss journey, I appreciate them all and this gyms management should count their lucky stars to have such brilliant people on their team.Lately however I have considered canceling my membership. The gym has become over run with uncleanliness, and over all terrible customer service from new staff is more prominent now than ever. My biggest complaint is about David, who is shown in my first photo, who gives absolutely no damns about his job or the gym members. He will keep the till closed his entire shift, denying anyone the right to make any purchases up front, and can be seen on his phone the entirety of the time I attend the gym. Not only is this hurting your profits (Management) but he is an unwanted stain upon this gym’s reputation. I’ve even heard stories about how since there was no bags in the locker room for wet clothes, a patron went up front to ask him for a garbage bag, and he proceeded to empty a Bartells bag he had stuff in and handed it to the member. This is absolutely ridiculous and shows he has no care for this gyms members, I recommend he be fired immediately or your members who come in during the evening hours could very well cancel their memberships, I know I’m tempted to. Moving on, as you’ll see in the photos provided, the state and cleanliness of the mens locker rooms and/or the spa area has fallen drastically. The amount of filth, grunge, and damage that can be found is insane to me, and has to be a health code violation. On top of that it had been heard that the wood which is quite literally falling apart in the sauna room was supposed to be replaced months ago. I feel like if these things can be focused on, like not even having a paper towel dispenser in the mens locker room? My confidence in this gyms capability to function normally and clean would be restored.
Signed sincerely, a very concerned member...
Read moreThe 100+$ annual fee is a fraudulent tactic they deliberately won't tell the customers when signing up, but then send in email. They say it is the customer s mistake to ignore that. Then why advertise just the monthly cost everywhere. I was horrified to see other customers too in google reviews post this. And why don't you charge annual fee on sign-up (are you afraid customers will back out the very next day?)
I reviewed a lot of stores, and never rated less than 3 before even if the experience was bad, and
Dear 24hr fitness - by 2018 standards you handled this terribly and horribly.
So ... it looks like ... Businesses like Costco who advertise their annual fee upfront on sign-up by being transparent to their customers are idiots then. These two points I gave is only for the physical trainers n other support staff who are 5/5. 0/5 for the sales team. I joined 24x7 in nov and I really told them that I will come for 5 months only. I was never told about annual fee. Then, I was surprised to see additional charge of 149$ in jan. I spoke the main manager at lynnwood location, spoke about it in detail. There was no admission of any kind of mistake from their side, i was repeatedly told they understood my concern but they can't do anything about it ... Seriously, it was my mistake to not check all the fine prints, and no other effort from his side to investigate further and rectify this.
Damn it, for god's sake ... I haven't signed up for this online or on amazon to miss the fineprint. Instead I visited ur facility, inquired in person about the plans, and this should have been the first few things i should have been told. That's when I looked up other reviews - and am shocked to see other reviewers suffer the same fate. This is when i understood it was a deliberate tactic. When there were customers who reported the same before me and it still happened to me, i will leave it to ur conscience what it implies about their sales team.
As for the annual fee i paid, i disputed the charge and got back the money. 5/5 for amex here.
I strongly believe you should do the same if you fall into...
