I never write reviews on stores, so you know I'm genuinely a bit frustrated by my experience. I'll start by saying I work in retail, specifically at a Kohl's, and I've been there for multiple years. I understand that there's certain things an employee has no control over when it comes to customer service, and I don't blame them. But at some point SOMETHING has to be said about it no matter who it lands on. I went here with my siblings because my sister had praised the low prices and cute clothes, and she was right about all that stuff. Good looking clothes for surprisingly low cost. That's literally the only good things I have to say about this store, which makes me sad because it's so new. First of all, there was zero recovery around the store (by which I mean cleaning up fixtures, refolding messed up piles, grabbing empty hangers, etc.). This is an issue at a lot of retailers that, in my experience, is a huge mark on what kind of management they've got going on. It really does kill the shopping experience when a store is SO messy that I don't wanna take the time to dig in at all. That's a nitpick, but it has legitimate affects on sales. Secondly, like everyone is complaining about, there was a MASSIVE line for checkouts, with (you guessed it) three or four employees just staring at us and yapping behind the counter. Only one was actually ringing people up. I'm not an idiot, I know that even IF there's one or two newhires who weren't register trained, there is NO WAY that nobody else standing around doing literally nothing could't help. I felt so bad for the kind girl who rung me up, and I actually had a short conversation with her that I'm a retail employee and I was empathetic that she has to cover for their laziness. That's basically where my in-store experience ends. HERE'S WHAT REALLY GETS ME: the pajama sets I bought were too small and had zero stretch for the recipient I got em for. I was pretty busy with life and didn't get around to figuring out a return process until today. I finally found the website (which didn't have this location registered for some reason) and after some scrolling around, I found out that I literally can't return these brand new clothes, tags on and clean as a whistle, because it's been 14 days. And EVEN IF I COULD, I would only be able to do an exchange or get a merchandise credit. That's genuinely absurd. I'm not gonna complain about the holiday returns, because Kohl's has a similar process and I don't really care. But this was BEFORE any of that. I'm irritated that my only option is to donate these brand new clothes (as nice as that will be for somebody who needs them) when all I wanted to do was get my money back in this dumb economy to buy that person a different gift. I'm just disappointed and I really hope this company gets its shit together, because this is how you just destroy a...
Read moreThis store is a pathetic excuse of a retail establishment. Despite multiple attempts to call the store AND leaving VMs...no answering or callbacks. The GM is a pathetic excuse for management. Unsurprisingly she was hesitant to give me her name, but luckily one of the staff did. The GM is a woman named Danielle. She clearly has no idea what she is doing. As a GM myself, I know what can and cannot be done by a GM and...she clearly does not. She seems to take more attention to a male coworker of hers than she does anything else. The second hand embarrassment came too easily. The staff? Doesn't do anything. Don't bother asking a question or for help as most of them are simply talking behind the register and not helping customers or helping with the incredibly long line. I asked a young girl for some help and she said she wasn't able to help me with that (checking out) & I casually asked how long she had been there because I wanted to see if what I felt was correct and her response was "since before we opened..." How do you not know how to check someone out at a register then? That should have been taught before the store opened or within the first week. My teenage daughter asked for some help to be able to try her items on & the employee looked her up and down and made a comment about how the clothes she wanted to try on "clearly wouldn't fit her" and it made my daughter very uncomfortable. Hardly anyone is on the floor or register, they seem completely understaffed or not correctly scheduled for such a big store. The only employee that was kind and helpful was a young lady named Kayt. She was doing several jobs in one with no help in sight. She still remained kind and as helpful as she could be. It seems like the entire staff is untrained and unhappy to be there. It is a new store and granted there is to be issues...but simply not doing your job, following your male staff around the store like a lost puppy, not answering your phones, not even trying to promote a better environment for your staff or customers is not considered to be within those issues. Hopefully they weed out this awful management and work towards a better shopping experience (and staff experience, apparently). Otherwise I wouldn't expect this store to stay open past the year, which is unfortunate because the clothes are cute and affordable. My teen was happy with her purchase, but neither of us enjoyed the...
Read morethis store has the cutest clothes at affordable prices but honestly i hate coming here because expect a line when you come. I only had two people ahead of me but they only have one person working the register and all the other employees are just standing behind the counter talking to each other including the person at the register. by the time it was my turn a line has formed behind me wrapping around. the person in front of me paying is also an employee here and please tell me why she is the one telling the employee at the register where whatever she needed is located?? i get it it’s a brand new store but customer service is absolutely horrible. when another employee finally hops on the register the other employee is sitting there talking about going on break when she hasnt even helped any other people and is still on the same person she was before. i get it i worked retail before and can understand if there are any issues with the register but it shouldn’t take that long to hop on real fast and kill that line. maybe stop talking and...
