BOUGHT A SICK BIRD
I wouldn't even give him 1 star of I could. Basically just fully paid out a baby bird in a full payment. He basically gave me a sick bird. I noticed she was vomiting on the way home. I didn't think anything of it because some get motion sickness from car motions . The next day and other days Days go by and she's still throwing up here and there. At first I was thinking she was doing it cause of over eating cause she was always eating . But she was also doing the feed me response that babies due when they are hungry. I thought that she did it cause she was still a baby and was just over eating to why she was regurgitating. The throwing up got to the point where she could no longer keep food or water down. Well my bird just died . I have paid to get X-ray done and vet visits for nothing . My vet told me that the bacteria she had was non resistant to antibiotics and that it had to come from the breeder or the parents of the bird. And that birds will hide their illness until it's too late. Well my too late came in and now she's gone. My vet kept telling me to message the store and see if there was anything he could do since I only had her for 2 months and basically was given to me sick and the the bacteria overgrown her in her crop. With his high high prices for his birds he sells they should already come vet checked as well . not just checked for certain disease. A whole clean health bill before they leave. Cause his bird are high in price It was hard just even getting my bird seen because everywhere is booked for visits. His thing was I should have seen a vet with in 2 days of purchasing and that I should have messaged him about the illness. I thought she was over eating that's why she was throwing up cause she was eating constantly.but the whole time she had a killer bacteria . I wasn't at home enough cause I work alot so if only get 3 to 4 hours with her .She kept eating because she was throwing it up thats what she kept doing doing the feed me cry . I don't know but I would highly advise buying birds from this man . I spent all this money for nothing but heart break. I wouldn't recommend this breeder WATCH OUT. BE SUPER CAREFUL . just because a bird looks healthy doesn't mean it's healthy they hide their illness until it does. My baby died from a bacterial infection that wasn't curable with antibiotics.
Edit . Actually this was 2years ago. It was after I got married. Like I said in the above, birds hide their illness until its too late. By the time I got into a vet that took birds it was too late. She suffered the last few weeks. At first I thought she was trying to feed me. But when she kept doing it non stop that's when I went seeking for help for a bird vet. I got X-rays done , she got an injection of antibiotics and got IV fluids and got her tested for lots of things. And she also got more antibiotics to go home with. She told me that she got the bacteria from the breeder his self. NOT ME.. . I took her 2 times to the vet. The 3rd appointment she didn't make it she died in my hands.I did do what I was supposed to do and seek help when I seen that she wasn't trying to feed me she just kept throwing up. With high your prices you should always have your birds seen by a vet period before they leave instead of making them sign a paper that says must be seen by a vet with in a week of purchasing. When I couldn't get in a vet fast because they were booked out . Who sells sick birds to people. . I REPEAT I WILL NEVER BUY A BIRD FROM HIM. BAD BREEDER AND SPEAKS TO YOU RUDELY AND TRIED TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE ITS YOUR FAULT. SMH
The 2nd pic was the first day I brought her home she was pretty thin. And that was her poop in the 1st pic and the 3rd pic was her regurgitating . The pic with the back pack was at the vet and the last 3 pics was right...
Read moreThis is the ONLY pet store I will buy a bird from! Elias runs an immaculate store and it doesn't even smell like a pet store! Birds are fed correct diets, and the birds are in great feather! Healthy and happy. We bought two baby white belly caiques from him and they are friendly, in great weight and feather. He garunteed them against polyoma virus and ensured they were properly vaccinated and also received the boosters. Elias is very well educated on the birds that he sells and that alone is worth everything to me! I hate talking to bird breeders that know nothing about the parrots they raise, as it shows they are only in it for a buck! But that is definately not the case with Elias!!! I rate the whole experience with only five stars, because there is not 10 stars to rate it with. We drive 6 hours round trip to visit his store, and we have never been disappointed ! You can tell he treats his birds right, and they show no fear or resentment to him whatsoever! And let me just say, his eye for rare species is amazing! In the times I have visited his shop, he has had hyacinth macaws, toucanets, keel billed toucans, major Mitchell cockatoo, Australian King parrot and more. There's always been SI eclectus and even vos marie eclectus. I never know what to expect to get to see when I visit this shop! And once again, it is IMMACULATE ! And even though the shop was extremely busy yesterday when we went, he alone, made sure that each customer in there was very well taken care of. He answered every question everyone asked, looked up exact hatch dates on the birds, showed the documentation of proof of negative diseases tested on the birds, hand fed the babies in front of the customers to watch, discussed all dietary needs for each species, and even let us feed blueberries to a keel billed toucan. I can't say enough good things about this shop! He even called me the next day to check up on how the two caiques were doing! I used to raise parrotlets, and gave my clients that same kind of service, it's extremely important in my opinion. Customer service has really plunged over the last few years, but Elias's customer service is OUTSTANDING! I highly recommend this shop and will eventually be adding some more to my flock and will be returning to...

Facility: Upon my arrival, I took note that the facility was extremely clean and well maintained. The owner allowed me to walk through his business and encouraged me to do so. All of the bird cages were very clean and well maintained, which meant a lot to me after checking out other businesses that sell birds.
Pricing: After checking the pricing of multiple species at various locations, Birdman's Parrots pricing was by far the best.
Supplies: It was nice being able to buy everything I needed at one location, and having so many options to choose from. Also, it was nice having items I've never seen before sold, such as harnesses, large play areas, training tools and a vast selection of toys.
Staff: When purchasing a new bird, I was assisted by Eli, who was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Eli was able to explain what the characteristics are of each breed, tell me what to expect, and what was needed to keep them happy. I'm am really excited to have found this kind of help, since it was such a learning experience when I visited. Eli made it very clear that I can contact him at anytime for questions, and I have at all hours of the day and night. Eli has contacted me on multiple occasions to check on the status of our new family member, but to also make sure everything else is doing well. Recently, we abruptly lost a bird and a dear member of our family, which was very young (purchased at The Ark Pet Store) . When Eli heard this news, he showed an incredible amount of compassion and concern for our tragedy. Eli allowed us to play with every/any bird we wanted to see and stayed open well beyond closing hours so we could make, what was for us, a very difficult and emotional decision. For this, I will always support and promote Eli's business.
A personal note to Birdman's Parrots & Staff: Thank You for everything you've done for my family. I really appreciate the time you took to make this an amazing experience, especially during such a emotional and difficult time. I will always be grateful and give you my business....
