Read moreCan't say enough great things about this place! Tried them on my almost week long trip to Chicago to visit my girlfriend's family and I loved their coffee so much I went every day. All the drinks had the perfect amount of flavor, sweetness, and punch from the coffee. They were very balanced. I was so impressed I tried a different drink each day to see if maybe they had one really good flavor and the others didn't hold up, but I was pleasantly proved wrong. I even enjoyed the breakfast sandwich and "Croffle" which was basically a Croissant pressed in a waffle maker with a choice of various signature flavors and toppings. If I lived in the area, they would be a go to spot for me and I will certainly recommend them to anyone as well as patron them again next time I'm in the area. The following are ratings and notes of my preferences:
Beverages
10/10 Ube Latte - great ube flavor and perfect punch of coffee. My personal favorite beverage I had. Got it the first and last day of my visit
9/10 The Mitski - Perfectly subtly Lavender flavor with a well-balanced Chai flavor and perfect punch of espresso
8.7/10 - 93' Bronco - Sounds weird, Orange Juice topped with Espresso, but it really works people. Great citrus notes, the right sweetness from the juice and potency of the espresso. A smidge bitter from the citrus and espresso, but a suprisingly stellar beverage overall!
8.5/10 Chocolate Churro Latte- Great chocolate flavor, nice cinnamon notes, and perfect punch of espresso as always. I didn't get the churro feel I expected and the spiced bit of the chocolate I'm not sure my palate recognized, but overall fantastic drink
8/10 Honeymilk - Wonderful Honey flavor, great cinnamon notes and without fail the right potency of espresso. This one I found was my least favorite just because it took longer for me to enjoy fully due to the sweetness of the Honey.
Food
9.5/10 - Croffle I think was like a maple and nut one great flaky and buttery Croissant paired with a light crispiness from the prep in the waffle press. We'll balanced nutty and maple tones. Wonderful snack/breakfast bite on the go.
7- The Meg not the biggest fan of sausage or sweetness when eating savory breakfast, but overall the hot honey drizzle on the bun and sandwich worked. Least favorite menu item of the trip but still good.
Overall, I'd say this place is special, one of those that gives core memories of a time and place where you were and what you were doing for years to come. I'd order anything I tried again and would recommend them to anyone. I will absolutely return next time I...
Read morePosting this because I specifically don't see any reviews going over the FOOD. Don't know if it's because they added it recently, or if people just don't get it. Either way, it's very good!
This spot is located within the train station lobby for the Des Plaines Metro line. The actual shop is cozy with a cute and quaint design, but the lobby can get very busy, noisy and rowdy. Not the greatest location unfortunately, and not a lot of room to sit. Not their fault, just pointing it out. You HAVE to take this to go.
Their breakfast menu is solid, my favorite is The Meg. The hot honey is NOT hot, but adds a very nice sweet flavor. Not too overpowering for me! Their lunch menu really shines. The Korean Chicken Cheesesteak is fantastic, and The Chos is incredible. All food I've tried here I would give a 5/5 besides their hash browns. Fell apart and not super crispy. Flavor was good, just not outstanding, so 3/5 for that.
The drink selection is vast, I've only tried 3. The Bikini Bottom and Mango Mojito were two of them, 5/5 and 4/5 respectively. Mango Mojito could've used a bit more mango flavor, but besides that very tasty! Bikini Bottom was fantastic, very sweet but expected from a drink with strawberry in it. Both gave me some jitters from the caffeine, but not any more than a coffee. Got both in Large.
Final drink I tried was their Thai Milk Tea Boba. Fantastic drink, 5/5 and definitely better than some other boba places I have been. Tasted close to the Thai Milk Tea I've gotten in the city, so that's a raving review.
The place is a bit pricey, but their food and drinks are quality and filling. I'd recommend it if you're close, it's convenient and you want something to fill you up. Great local place and hoping more people try the food as I can't even find pics of the food...
