Great place to make new friends and learn to play all kinds of different games I’ve been playing yugioh and magic the gathering and Pokemon trading card game for 25 years. Here is a story to for Pokemon community a gift that he left behind a wish the legendary magic the gathering artist Christopher Rush left behind for me a story to tell to the TCG community.
The Legend of the Signed Mewtwo Based on a true story By Rene Oswald Montalvo
Long ago, in the year 2014, at a Grand Prix held in New Jersey, a player — one who had walked the battlefields of Magic: The Gathering for over 25 years — crossed paths with greatness.
Among the bustling crowds and the clatter of cards, he met Christopher Rush, one of the sacred artists who helped give life to Magic itself. In that moment, a simple Pokémon card — a Mewtwo promo — was blessed by Rush’s own hand. With a stroke of ink, the card was transformed from paper into legend.
Time passed, and as it often does, the world changed. The artist, Christopher Rush, became a memory — a living legend who journeyed beyond. His signature, already rare, became priceless to those who remembered.
When the great pandemic of 2021 swept across the world, and the days grew uncertain, the player faced a choice: to hoard the artifact for riches or to pass on the living memory it carried. He chose the latter. The signed Mewtwo was sold, not out of greed, but to keep the story alive — and for $1,000, a small price for a legend.
Even the manager of Christopher Rush himself sought the card, but it was too late. It had already been passed on, vanishing into the hands of another, whose name remains secret, guarding the mystery like a hidden treasure.
Now, only the tale remains — told in quiet corners of the Pokémon and Magic communities — of a player who once held a one-of-a-kind relic and chose to turn it into a living myth.
Some say the card still surfaces from time to time, in the hands of those who truly understand what it means to carry a legend.
I decided to share this story because it feels like the perfect time, with the world deep in Pokémon nostalgia. This story is priceless to me.
It all began thanks to my language arts teacher, Mr. Miller, at Stonewall Middle School back in 2001. He introduced me to Magic: The Gathering when I first moved from California to Virginia. Mr. Miller taught me how to read the cards and showed me the art of Christopher Rush — the artist behind the iconic Black Lotus. He was my role model, and thanks to him, I made new friends at Stonewall, friendships that have lasted over 25 years.
As I walked the race tracks recently and reflected on my journey, I felt inspired to become a teacher myself — to pay it forward, just like Mr....

This was a wonderful place! I was here for the Grand Archive Regional Event they hosted. They did a great job keeping it flowing and check-in was flawless as well.
They have a nice selection of singles from a variety of TCGs and they have some boxes too, but they were displayed in a way that made me think not quite for sale yet, but I could be wrong. There's also plenty of starter decks you can pick up for well, any TCG just about and the pricing there was good too. Also, if you want to complete sets of various TCGs, they got a huge amount of bulk which I think is like $0.10/card.
The only complaint I have is the lighting in the store seemed kind of dim which sometimes causes me to feel tired when...
