I've only been to this Guitar Center twice, the first time was okay as I was looking to pick up a guitar. I did have a guy I believe called Chris help me and he was very helpful. Today however I felt that I had to write a little review as it's probably going to be the last time I visit the store.
I called up the store on Thursday night to ask about setting up my guitar. I was told that they don't really take appointments even though on the website it does say that you can make an appointment. My wife and I took a 1 hour drive to the store this morning to find out that the guitar tech was off sick, which is perfectly understandable.
I was directed over to the accessories department and told to wait there. I spoke to a guy who informed me that there would be a wait of a few days. We told him that this wasn't mentioned on the phone and that we might not have made a 1 hour drive to come to the store as it's not on our way to work so it's a bit out of our way.
The guy didn't appear to be too upset in that we didn't receive the correct information and I didn't believe him when he said that they've never had a complaint before. He mentioned that there might be 20 guitars that need to be tuned, this wasn't mentioned on the phone either, perhaps it was naive of me to think it would be set up there and then.
In fact he agreed that we could have been told more information on the phone but he said it in such a way as if to make me think this has happened before. In my opinion he should have been more focused on my wife and I and not trying to brush us off as that's what it appeared to be.
We left and on the way home we stopped by a closer store who appeared to be more than willing to help me. I think I will stay clear of this Guitar Center from now on. They do have a nice range of stuff but this staff member didn't take my...
Read moreVery disapointed in how I was recently treated at this location. Ive been a long time customer of this location dating back over 15 years and have spent thousands of dollars there. I had an item on layaway, had been making payments on the item over the past 2 months, well I find out that there these payments were going toward an item that didnt even exist as they had sold it to another customer. It was a pre owned mixer so its not like I can just get another one. They didnt call, email, nothing... to let me know that they had sold it or were going to sell it. So naturally I asked for a refund of the money I had given them for said item, they asked my form of payment which was cash. They told me "we dont have that much money in cash to give you" mind you it wasnt a HUGE amount of cash. I find it hard to believe they didnt have 200$ to refund me. The sales associate was extremely rude and had an attitude about the whole thing telling me my choice is store credit or a hand written check. Well if I pay in cash I expect cash not credit or a check that is a major inconvenience. You think after wasting 2 months of my time and selling my item they could at least be courteous about it all, but noooo, huge attitude and rude behavior! From now on I will make my purchases from anywhere but guitar center. Ill try sam ash, or one of the online competitors. Im sorry to say that you have lost a very loyal and long time customer because of the way you treated me yesterday. This could have been avoided, had you staff member had been a little bit apologetic about the whole thing instead of...
Read moreI love guitar center. Been going there since I was a little kid and until last night (10/8/21) me and my fiance have never been so heavily bombarded by one employee, Erica. Usually an associate will introduce themselves and ask if we need any help, we say no thanks, we're just looking, and continue on our way unbothered. Erica made it a point to approach us every 5 minutes of our 45 minute visit to ask if we need help again for the 2nd 3rd 4th time(we said no thanks every time), interrupting while we were plugging in trying to test out some amps, talking over us while we were playing talking about what SHE likes, making it about herself... And then called me cute which was very weird and unprofessional. When she tried approaching for the 6th or 7th time (to apologize for calling me cute) I finally snapped and told her she was bugging us way too much and she finally left us alone, too bad we were already packing up... Didnt even genuinely get to test out the amps let alone even enjoy myself because we were too busy entertaining her the entire time. Its time to finally check out and she makes it a point to take 3 phone calls after I am already waiting at the register when I am the only person in line. Very bad experience.. Felt like she was playing games with me because I was obviously uncomfortable with her bothering us...
