First off, the facility is quite nice. It just opened so it was obviously brand new looking and I hope they can do a good job of keeping everything clean.
The jungle gyms, slides and trampolines are all super fun and the kids at age 4 and up had a great time.
The staff was also great. Most were pretty young but all seemed polite and helpful.
My major complaint is that the pricing scheme is pretty awful. It costs $20 for entry for the whole day. We thought that was reasonable but it turns out anybody above 9 months old has to pay that same $20 even if they just want to supervise. So even though we only had 2 kids with us that wanted to play, we were expected to pay for 2 kids, 3 parents, and a 11 month old. So a $40 play date shot up to an absurd $120 when only 2 kids would be using the equipment. Instead of having our families together for the day, I stayed with the kids that could play while the other parents and babies went for the day somewhere else. Definitely not ideal.
We also weren't allowed to bring in our water, juice, or snacks which makes sense. I get that they want you to pay for their food. But there are no complimentary cups for water and a juice box or water bottle are $2.50 which I feel is very steep for a tiny amount of juice. They have a water fountain but 3 and 4 year olds struggle to use them well.
I was told I could bring in an empty bottle next time but I feel like having some small cups would be an easy way to make sure kids can stay hydrated.
I am happy to pay for the kids to play but I am not going to pay to just walk around nor would I ever pay $20 for a 10 month old that I am going to hold the entire time
Again, the facility is nice and I want them to succeed. But with so many indoor jungle gyms in the area that allow parents to supervise for free, I don't think we will return until the pricing becomes a little...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family and I were excited to visit Lava Island for the first time. Such a cute fun place for kiddos to explore. My 6 year old had the time of his life. I wasnāt too happy about the adults having to pay $20 to get in even if you arenāt utilizing the facility, but we looked past that⦠however, my 4 year old son is on the spectrum and is deaf. He has a sensory processing disorder so refuses to wear socks and shoes (weāre lucky he even keeps his pants on!). He was over the moon about the new bounce place and his whole face lit up when we walked in. I informed the manager of his sensory issues and him refusing to wear socks. She said unfortunately we can not stay and play. I decided to attempt to keep his socks on. For the ten whole minutes we were there, he threw a fit because I kept forcing the socks on him. The manager kept her eye on my son and I the whole time. There were times where she would just stand over us like a security guard, Iām assuming to get ready to ask us to leave. At this point I was just over the looks from all the staff so decided to grab my son and leave. How do I explain to my deaf autistic son that we canāt stay and play? We both walked out of the facility in tears. My kiddo had no idea why he had to leave and my momma heart was shattered. Zero accommodations were made while we were there. I understand that there are rules that have to be followed but weāve been to a handful of indoor jump places and weāve never had an issue like this! Needless to say, we will not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe place is extremely misleading. And somewhat uncomfortable. They all watch like a hawk. It states 1-59 is $20 so last time my daughter was free. However now it states on a big sign 0-9mos free but another sign right in front ages 1-59. They wouldnāt honour it this time. I find this BULLSHIT. Staying the time to get my moneys worth but again, ridiculous. I wanted to leave right then and there but drive an hour 20 and has a toddler who was excited. I donāt think weāll be back nor recommend this place at all. Itās extremely scummy. I like to add that when you walked in on their big screen where you go to pay it clearly stated ages one to 59 was $20 if you paid for all day but then itās 0 to 9. It says free. But then on a small paper they have on the desk. It says ages 1 to 59 you pay. But they tried to tell me that I had to pay, even though my daughter wasnāt one. So I had brought this to their attention that their sign said two different things and then I didnāt have to pay last time and before leaving I noticed that they had to change their sign to age 0 to 59. You had to pay the 20 bucks. But jokes on them as the time I got there and first brought this to their attention I pulled up their website and screenshot it. The pricing saying you werenāt charged until your child was one. I will be fighting to get my $20 back as this was extremely scamming a customer...
