I decided to make a purchase despite wanting to leave after this completely unacceptable experience, just so I could document it… On 8/10/25 around 8:05–8:10 PM, I stopped in with my 4-year-old, who told me she needed to use the restroom. When I asked cashier #794127 where it was, she rolled her eyes and snapped, “They’re cleaning them!” I replied, “Okay… well where are they located so I can use them after they’re done?” and she begrudgingly gave me directions with an eye roll.
We got to the restroom only to find two or three employees physically blocking the restrooms with their bodies and a rolled-up rug (overkill much?). I explained my daughter really had to go, but the older blonde woman told me, “No, the floors are wet,” followed by, “It’ll be 15–20 minutes.” Fifteen to twenty minutes for floors to dry…? Ever heard of a wet floor sign???
Instead of accommodating a basic human need for a 4YO CHILD, they chose to prioritize early closing duties over common sense and human decency. About ten minutes later, the same blonde employee tracked us down in another part of the store, stopped, literally looked at my daughter, and still had the audacity to say “Yeah, sorry again, they’ll need another 15–20 minutes,” making it crystal clear she had no intention of opening the bathrooms for us.
When we went to check out, the cashier, the blonde woman, and another employee were talking, and the cashier pointed toward me while speaking. I couldn’t hear what was said, but the side-eyes, muttering, and stank energy carried right through checkout. Under-the-breath comments, zero friendliness, and blatant unprofessionalism from multiple employees made it obvious that human decency and customer service comes second to their power trips.
Cashier #794127 and her coworkers need serious customer service retraining and a formal reprimand. If this is the standard, then management and corporate should be embarrassed!!!
One last thing. If she ends up with a UTI from holding it because your staff refused access, should I send the bill to the store or straight...
Read moreI had one of the most humiliating and emotionally disturbing experiences of my life at this At Home location. I simply came in around 9:15 PM to exchange a $24 storage bin (with the original tag still attached), and instead I was met with blatant hostility, disrespect, and racially charged behavior from two store managers.
These two women one blonde, one with red hair I believe one name was Cindy Brown were not only rude and dismissive from the moment I approached the counter, but they were also abrasive, loud, and confrontational without any valid reason. I was not greeted or acknowledged, just treated as a problem the moment I spoke.
The blonde-haired manager refused to help me and escalated things by calling over the red-haired manager, who was even worse. She began mocking me, raising her voice, and speaking to me in a degrading tone. Then, as I was walking away this red-haired manager started yelling and mocking me in front of the store and other customers.
As an African American man, I left the store feeling completely disrespected, targeted, and unsafe. It felt like these two had been waiting all day to mistreat someone like me. I don’t say this lightly, but this experience made me never want to step foot into an At Home store again. I walked out feeling deeply emotional and violated not over an item, but over how I was dehumanized.
An older Black woman in the store witnessed everything, and even she was in disbelief. This wasn’t just bad customer service—it was racial profiling, abuse of authority, and blatant discrimination.
These women should be immediately terminated. No person in leadership especially in retail should behave this way toward any customer. The corporate team must take this seriously. There is no place in 2025 for this kind of behavior to...
Read moreI shopped at this Mansfield location on 6/24/24, as a handicap consumer I felt highly offended today by one of your cashiers or she could have been a "new" manager. I have a hip problem and I came in your store to shop. After using your scooter to shop, I actually purchased several items. After I finished checking out, there was a white female with shoulder length hair she was actually training a new associate that day around 3pm. I didn't get her name. She actually asked me to leave the scooter in the store and go get my vehicle and then come back and get my items out of the store. My question is? Why could I not drive the scooter to my vehicle which was parked in a handicap parking space? She also removed my items out of my cart before I drove the scooter out with attitude like I offended her for being in a scooter. Mind you I heard her tell the customer ahead of me to bring his flat cart back in the store when he finished unloading. My guess is she must be "new" to retail or she needs training on customer service. When I did pull my vehicle up she finally brought my bags to my vehicle with an ugly attitude and mumbled "We normally don't do this for customers they come in to get their own bags." I was furious!!😡 She ruined my entire day. As I was in a lot of pain that day. You as a store need to hire the right associates to work your lot to handle your cart situation. Because with lazy personell like that lady. You will lose a lot of good customers, with that type of attitude. I worked retail all of my life, and I have NEVER seen a situation like that just RUDE and VERY...
