I’ve been shopping at the Margate Goodwill for years and always appreciated the friendly, professional staff. Unfortunately, my most recent visit reflected poorly on the new management. The cashier, Veronica, was shouting across the store with her manager, Paula, creating an obnoxious and unprofessional atmosphere for customers waiting in line. It’s fine to enjoy work, but there still needs to be professionalism in front of customers.
When it was my turn, instead of greeting me, Veronica repeatedly hit the counter to call me forward . During checkout, she switched to speaking Spanish and told me she didn’t speak English, only to then respond to me in English moments later.
When I brought up my concerns to her manager, Paula, I didn’t feel they were taken seriously. The lack of professionalism from both staff and management makes it hard to continue supporting this location, which is disappointing because this has always been one of my favorite stores. I hope corporate takes these concerns seriously, as this behavior reflects poorly on the...
Read moreI’ve went once in this Goodwill, I was shocked by how overpriced it was.. the most expensive goodwill I ever been!!! It’s clean, but it doesn’t give the reason for overpricing.. I’m taking my donations to Jupiter Goodwill.. I have several boxes to donate, but I’ll take where they are fair with their customers.. I moved from Jupiter to Deerfield, the Goodwill at Jupiter (which I’m still a member), they are way cheap, the clothes there is high quality, the staff (which is a lot) are all very empathetic, three cashiers all the time, 25% off on seniors day, and 25% off any day for goodmembers! And almost ever week they have a 50% off for good members!! I’m sorry, but I had to compare, bacias I’ve been traveling all Over USA, found in goodwill in almost every city.. this is so far, the most expensive, little staff, and no kind at all.. And some clothes are priced with permanently marker!!!!!!!!
So disappointed.. I’ll drive all the way...
Read moreAt this location in Margate, FL, I bought about 10 wine glasses yesterday. The employee charged me for it, and when I told her to wrap them in paper so they wouldn't get hit or damaged and put them in a bag, she told me that Goodwill didn't do that. She forced me to buy a plastic bag for $1.50, and I was the one who had to put the glasses inside. This is by far the worst Goodwill I've ever been to. People are yelling in Spanish all the time, being grumpy, and ignoring people, avoiding doing things they are obligated to offer to the customers. I think the regional managers should talk to these people and explain to them that customer satisfaction is on top to maintaining the store's popularity. Being kind and courteous, offering to wrap the glasses in paper and providing plastic bags to carry the products are basic principles here and...
