I have coached or been a part of Marysville parks and rec spring soccer program for the past 2 years and 6 years with Club soccer Marysville parks and rec is not a safe environment for younger kids U8,U9,U10 parks and recs and 90% of coaches are not training for safety at the younger ages.
Parks and recs would prefer for you to keep quiet when no calls are made on dangerous illegal plays. Leaving 8,9,10 year olds injured on the field.
I understand the Referees are younger and timid but this should be at the expense of a child injury during rec soccer. Coaches are only required a background check - no safety sport classes for head injuries, Cardiac arrest, first aid is required for rec coaches
For club soccer this is a requirement to coach- it brings safety for the kids to front not the back like Marysville park and rec has it now.
