I was very hesitant about leaving a bad review for a new restaurant because I feel bad, but it was necessary. Where do I begin? We ordered 2 individual dinners on delivery for $32. Kind of spendy in comparison to other restaurants. Delivery took over an hour, and when we called twice to make sure they received the order on the app, no answer. The driver gets to the door with ZERO change. We only had $50 and I'm sorry, I'm not tipping $18 for late service. So my husband drives to the gas station to get her change. I was very disappointed by the look of everything. Extremely BLAND food I mean BLAND. Needs salt, sugar, pepper, SOMETHING. The sweet and sour chicken already had the sauce poured on top so the breading was complete mush when it arrived. The fried rice had about 5 frozen veggies in it, nothing else, no egg, meat, nothing. The chow mein was extremely bland also. The egg drop soup was fine. But the kicker was the hot mustard. I LOVE hot Chinese mustard so as normal I took an average sized bite, and literally choked and had to spit it out. It was about double the spice of a normal hot mustard and I couldn't breathe. So we call to complain and get some of our $ back. They answer after 2 calls. She says to call back in 10 minutes for the manager was busy. Call back 3 times, NO ANSWER. Great service. The following day we call back and the lady says "Everyone has different taste buds" What??! I love spicy food, I literally couldn't swallow that mustard. So we asked for our $$ back, they say no, not even half. She offers 1 $11 meal on the house. Needless to say, we will not...
Read moreWas on my way home and I have passed by here a couple of times so I decided to try it out. I've been at this location before when it was a cafe. When I first walked in I was surprised since they remodeled, it looks a lot better and it had a comfy atmosphere. I wanted to do take out and they have a wide variety. My friend is vegan so it's nice to know they have options if you ask. One thing for certain is this place is very busy, while I was waiting with a glass of water that was kindly provided, one of the ladies at the front desk got many phone calls for delivery orders. It's nice to know that this place delivers but the delivery time can be pretty long from what I've heard, keep in mind I was ordering during dinner hours so I would try deliver for lunch. When my food was ready I took it home and let me tell you the food is to die for here. I ordered the Honey Walnut Prawns, vegetable chow mein, and string bean chicken. The Walnut Prawns was still pretty crispy when I got home and the sauce was delicious, not overly sweet! The chicken chow mien has vegetables in it, I don't know but some restaurants have none so I was happy. Then the string bean chicken was a little spicy and not overly salty. Also it was awesome that I got a free order of spring rolls since my amount was over a certain budget. The only thing that I can complain about, which I might be a little nit picky here, was I would love to see some more staff since they are so busy. But in the end I was happy and the wait was worth it. I...
Read moreI made my first visit to Beijing Chinese Cuisine yesterday. It's a great restaurant. The have a huge menu with lots of Chinese food choices as well as Japanese based teriyaki dishes and phad thai (Thailand). We ordered three entrees for two people. Pork with String Bean, Beef Chowfun (big noodles), and Black Bean Sauce Chicken. All were prepared as gluten free meals. The entrees were huge and we took home more food than we ate. The string bean dish and the black bean sauce dish were my favorites. The beef chowfun was OK but I probably won't order it again. I had pretty much written off Chinese food since most Chinese restaurants cook and marinate with traditional soy sauce which has gluten in it. Beijing Chinese Cuisine will use gluten free soy sauce if you ask. I think I will order the House Special Fried Rice next time and have it delivered to my house for free ( I live within the three mile free delivery radius). The BCC operates in the old Boondockers Restaurant building. This is a purpose built restaurant building with a nice parking lot and great access for people with disabilities. Attractive, clean, and well organized on the inside. Friendly efficient staff. BCC is a definitive improvement over Boondockers in my opinion. This is certainly one of my new favorite Marysville...
