My wife and I went to this shop while in town, but our dealing with the shop started long before we landed on the island. Even through e mail they were helpful and very informative so that upon our arrival we knew what to expect.

I had two pieces done by Milad and my wife had 2 pieces done by Cid. Both of these artist were amazing. Milad created an unbelievable piece that was able to blend and tie in 2 other pieces of work from years ago. His touch was very light. His demeanor was kind and soft. His conversation and chair side man or were outstanding. Depending how long your in his chair you may feel like you got a free therapy session. The time Flew by. While I’m sure he tats more tourists than anything else, don’t be afraid to ask for something more than a turtle, ask for something original. This guy is the business, be sure to give him yours.

My wife had Cid. She was on top of things. The design was done and ready when we walked in the door. She was very friendly as well as professional. I have to say I though all the Karen’s lived back on mainland but no such luck. While we were there a guest came in complaining about a piercing for her daughter that had not quite worked out on the first visit. Sid handled this as professionally as she could offering both multiple apologies as well as alternatives. Sometimes it’s not enough for the Karen’s of the world. This woman was so out of line I eventually spoke up as well as her story continued to change. Going from “you spoke to my daughter and hour ago” to you sent her a text today, then finally when she said the text was at 2:38pm, everyone in the shop said well.....it’s 1:22 pm so....... she eventually left and now has left a poor review for Cid and then had her kid do one as well. I’m here in Maui on vacation and my brother and I decided to get piercings. We decided to go to Maui Tattoo Company and Syd was the piercer we made an appointment with. Alyssa was super helpful with scheduling and was super sweet. The place seemed very wonderful and everyone else was super nice. When we arrived Syd had me fill out a paper saying what I was piercing and to agree and consent to the piercing, but she failed to actually look at what I wrote. She then showed my brother and I the jewelry that you would use for normal lobe piercings since that was what he was getting. I didn’t question it because I thought she was a professional. After finding out she was doing a cartilage she did not ask me to pick a different jewelry piece (the ones with the flat back you normally get with a cartilage piercing) she then went on with the piercing with a 20 gauge needle. After finishing I asked her if I was supposed to have the flat back jewelry for this kind of piercing and she rudely said it would be fine. When I asked if we could do a flat back instead or if they had any 20 gauge jewelry that were flat backs she said rudely “I don’t have those.” Why would she pierce me with a 20 gauge if she didn’t have any of the right jewelry? I have been thinking about getting a tattoo for some time and decided that at 56 I was going to get my first tattoo in Maui. I looked at other tattoo shops online and visited another one in person but just wasn’t feeling it. I’m the kind of person that goes with my gut instinct. Anyway, my wife wanted me to drive her to a clothing boutique and when I parked the car I saw the Maui Tattoo Company and decided to walk-in and check them out. I told them what I was looking for and they immediately made me feel very comfortable and helped with the design, proper size and placement. Milad was working that day so I made an appointment to come back and have him do my tattoo. The tattoo came out perfect and he was great during the entire process. At first I though the shading was too dark (again, this was my first tattoo) and I read that the shading will lighten up as it heals. Like I said, I thought the tattoo looked great the day I got it, but now after about three weeks of healing the shading has lightened up and makes the tattoo looks even better than the day I got it.
