My recent experience at this place was absolutely terrible. I go to Maui often and I use to recommend them to everyone I know. I won't be anymore. I took sometime before placing my review to get my emotions in check, but after a while it felt like I should share my experience, maybe it'll be helpful to the owners. One blond blue eye young lady behind the counter was beyond rude to us, I brought 3 of my friends in and was excited to show them a local spot with some local coffee, I also wanted them to try the Irish cream lattes there. During our interaction with this cashier, we've had questions about the coffee deals they were running, also my friends asked about other products sold there aside from coffee drinks... the way this person was answering our questions, while rolling her eyes was offensive and rude. We had genuine interest in spending money there, only to be treated terribly. I couldn't help but noticing how she was to other customers in front of us, smiles and thank yous, and when I saw how snarky she was answering our questions, it did get me upset, im not gonna claim its the way we looked or this and that... I don't know her reasons... all I know is how I felt after that interaction. honestly might be upset enough to never step foot in that place again. Good riddance, right? I know.. may not a big deal to a business owner losing one customer, but I truly hope they will take a deeper look at their customer service, and improve it. As a proud American, I love to help a local business everywhere I go, but in Kihei I'd just rather walk a bit further down to the...
Read moreThis is exactly the kind of coffee shop I hoped to find while visiting the island. You'll absolutely love the vibe, the crew, and of course the coffee.
The owner will walk you through the coffee they have roasted and give you the back story on anything you're interested in, making every sip that much more enjoyable.
I stepped away from my traditional black Americano to try one of their local favorites and got a banana mocha. It was delicious and hit the spot.
Their inside has games, books, and even guitars in front of a giant world map you can see where people have visited from all over the world. I couldn't resist adding a pin to make sure that Tacoma has a showing.
I chilled inside while I worked on some deliverables for my next employee engagement workshop that I'll be delivering when I get home. But once the work was done I was excited to move out to the deck where I watched the waves at the beach across the street.
Give this local small business lots of attention while you are here. I'll be sure it's a regular part of all...
Read moreA fun coffee shop that’s walkable from the beach. The drinks are reasonably priced but the coffee beans are a bit more expensive than the surrounding local coffee shops (25/ 8oz) but is roasted on Maui and is very yummy! They also have some flavored coffees, and the banana macadamia nut flavour is fabulous as an iced coffee. They have a variety of syrups to flavour your drinks as well as many non dairy milk options. We tried hot cappuccinos and they were yummy. We also tried the mango bread and it was very good (a hint of mango flavour).
** UPDATE * * Sorry if it wasn't clear, and thank you to Julie @ Lava Java for the clarification on the coffee price. The beans sold here that I purchased are grown on Maui and that was the reason for the slightly higher price compared to other coffee shops that sell blends. The beans are locally gown and locally roasted and absolutely worth the extra money! Their Maui Red Catuai coffee was a lovely addition to our mornings...
