It’s a food truck! So don’t expect the atmosphere of an inside restaurant. Personally, I thought the environment was perfect for the area and for the style of food. Now to the important part…the food!

The seafood was, so far, the freshest I’ve seen on Maui (I’ve only been here 2-3 days so maybe I’ll find even fresher!). Very fresh, and well prepared. I ordered the mahi, it due to a happy mistake the owner gave me the ahi instead. I decided to keep the ahi since I was see-sawing between the two anyway. The ahi on top of that bed of garlic rice with some of the crema… so yummy. My friend ordered a box of mixed tacos which she said was good (I didn’t try personally). The tacos looked very simple, but she said they were fresh and that’s exactly how she prefers them.

We also got an appy of scallops and sweet potato fries. Scallops were cooked perfectly and sweet potato fries were well fried with a unique bbq-ish sauce! Definitely worth trying.

Sides: garlic butter rice with (I think) saffron was perfectly seasoned for me. I could eat that on its own. Sweet potato (ube) salad i was a little skeptical about, but so yummy too! Wish I could have had more.

Couple tips: lots of options, so take your time to pick or find a friend to share with! bring water with, you can buy it there too, but if you really want to see how fresh the fish is, don’t keep things simple salad is dressed with a mango salad, so it might surprise you when you taste it. Side note, that mango dressing also goes well in the ahi! if you can, save space for dessert, nearby is a unique little ice-cream truck that I’ll write a review for too and, if you like shaved ice, it’s in the area too (on my list to try if I can)

I hope I can make it back before I leave Maui. I’ll definitely try the mahi mahi next time!

P.S. we had some chicken friends come visit. Don’t fall for their adorableness...

YUMMMM. 10/10. I had to start writing this review after my first bite of coconut shrimp — it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The coconut breading was made from scratch and I would probably eat it fried by itself. šŸ™ƒ The fries served with were bomb, battered and so crispy on the outside while still soft on the inside. I had the crispy mahi tacos and the fish was cooked perfectly, with the tartar sauce having a really yummytropical twist. So freaking good. My boyfriend ordered blackened ahi which again was cooked to perfection, still rare on the inside as ahi should be. The fixins served with the mains were very fresh. We ordered the special POG juice (fresh not canned) and it was one of the best we’ve tasted.

I don’t know if the gentleman running the truck is the owner or not but he was so nice and a very hard worker, even in the uncomfortable heat. (We were feeling it outside of the truck, he’s a G for being in there all day.) He crushed out 5 parties worth of made to order dishes within 15-20 mins. Truly delicious food and a talented chef in addition to being an obviously kind person.

This will be in my top 3 fave places to eat for the foreseeable future… and I live in...

Advertised vegan options. However there's egg so not vegan. When asking to make it vegan with exchanging the non vegan option of sweet potato salad with just sweet potato fries it's not an option. But they'll remove the sweet potato non vegan option and offer a green salad. Which per grams and nutrition it offers far less. Nor is price adjusted if you choose to exclude the other non vegan options and have solely the one option that is vegan. So you'll pay more and get less if you are there for the vegan option compared to even places that don't advertise that there are vegan options and can make dishes vegan with reasonable substitutes of the non vegan dishes. No flexibility here even with the advertised vegan option. Not expecting a full portion of the sweet potato fries as a substitute. A small appropriate size would of been acceptable.

Helpful tip: There is a truck literally right next to them. It's not listed on Google maps but they do have a vegan option and it's actually vegan so you don't need to try to substitute or make an advertised vegan dish as actually vegan. Tasty and portion size will leave room...

Not much to say about the atmosphere because this is a food truck there are tables under the shade next to the truck for you to eat your meal at, but it is served in a take away box to get this on the Run. When you are following GPS guidance, don't blink you will miss it. There is a parking lot behind the food trucks that line the street for you to park at so pull into that lot. Now for the star of the show, the food is to die for! I had the grilled mahi mahi and the grilled ahi tuna. Both of these were straightforward but very fresh fish. So much ahi tuna I couldn't believe it. Comes with a side of ube and mango salad dressing on a small salad. There is also a sauce that I can't quite place but it is delicious with the fish and the accompanying rice. Prices are very reasonable especially for the size portions that you get of the fish. For me, the fish is the star of the show and the generous portions make it well worth the drive from Lahaina where we were staying. If you're out for the day stop in here for a quick bite to eat and you will not go wrong with whatever decide to order
