Waiohuli Beach Hale — Local services in Maui

I have positive and negative about this place. Positively I’d say the location was great. It was convenient, beach was super close and beautiful sunsets, very quiet with good privacy. Negatively the people who owned the condo we stayed in did bare minimum for us. AC was awful we couldn’t hold family functions here because the living room got up to 86. Our food melted and bugs swarmed our counters if anything was on then. This included in the bathroom also. (A103) stay clear of this condo. Make sure to pay attention to the listings and what they advertise per condo. Part of this was our fault for not paying enough attention. We had other family members in different condos they were very nice. We booked through Maui rentals. They tried to help but could only do so much because of the owners wishes. Which baffles me, knowing you’d rent to other people I would think you’d want to accommodate families. But no it was only what they wanted for themselves in “their” condo. The pool was great but you were very limited in what was allowed. They have a very strict list of what’s allowed. Which isn’t much. Swim laps seemed to be the only appropriate thing you could do. The manager cracked down on us multiple times for play games and using a speaker. Even when we were the only ones there. So needless to say this place had good and bad. Just depends on what your wanting as a whole family that goes or quiet get away...

These older condos are right on the water. Three buildings create a U shaped border around the pool and grassy area. There are three super large gas grills on one side along with three older picnic tables. We ate there several times, grilling alongside condo neighbors. The pool is clean and fairly warm, perfect for a little one and for swimming laps if you don't mind the warm water. The condos themselves are a bit dated. Our bed was comfortable and the furnishings were what we're used to seeing in most of the places we've rented. Mismatched glassware and an interesting selection of pots, pans, utensils and towels plus some spices, salt and pepper round out the kitchen. There is no central a/c, just window units. These did an adequate job of keeping us cool, but were a bit noisy and the one in the living room was hard to control. The ceiling fans help. The condo has one actual bedroom in the front. The kitchen and living room take up the back of the condo, with another bedroom making an L to the side. In our unit, this master bedroom was separated from the living room by a wide accordion door. Not ideal, but workable. We loved the grounds and the location, tolerated the a/c situation, and had a wonderful time playing on the beach, sitting (not too close) to sea turtles as they sunned themselves on the shore, and watching...

Outdated with a ghetto feel. Needs some major TLC remodeling for the price you pay to stay. Very disappointed but even more for this reason--- Management is VERY rude. I was rinsing off from the beach and was approached by manager that was large and disheveled, telling me to not come back to the condominiums , assuming I wasn't a guest. When I explained my family was staying there he began taking pictures of me and told me not to come back. It was the most bizarre and uncomfortable experience , mind you I am 8 months pregnant! When I called management on the website number, I was told they would follow up. They called me back the next week saying that I must have dressed inappropriate to prompt the attention from the "manager" who approached me . Unbelievable and i was in a normal bathimg suit !! Just a pregnant woman trying to enjoybtime with family. But why should I explain myself ?! We will never ever stay there again, I suggest you look elsewhere to enjoy your vacation in a classier setting . It's a very unpleasant place to be and management is as you can tell, extremely unprofessional , rude and pretentious for no reason. It was Thanksgiving Day and he really put a damper...
