We're definitely fans!
ATMOSPHERE: The shop is located in the Azeka Shopping Center fronting South Kihei Road, two doors away from Taco Bell. Big windows let in lots of light and is great for people/traffic watching from the all-table seating.
MENU: Fruit and cream pies, pot pie, quiche, turnovers, cookies, muffins, rolls.
FOOD: Chicken Pot Pie Go big or go home! All the homemade pot pies are frozen, and they need at least an hour's notice if you'd like it baked there. We took it home and popped it in the oven per the on-box directions, 375-degrees for 75 minutes, and it came out perfect. We didn't let it set so the contents came oozing out as we sliced it, which was fine because it was piping hot. The crust was buttery and flavorful, with a subtle crunch and moist interior. The filling was savory with an herby-peppery flavor, with chunky bits of chicken, potatoes, peas, carrots, onions and mushrooms. I haven't had many pot pies to compare to, but I really liked it here.
SERVICE: We were immediately greeted by a gal working in the kitchen, with the cashier dashing out to take our order. Very welcoming, professional and friendly.
OVERALL: 100% homemade and fresh. A...
Read moreWe got three 6” pies here (apple, key lime & peach raspberry) the day we flew home. We didn’t have a solid plan for when we planned to eat them, so we just dragged them around with us between picking them up and boarding our flight. In that time the paper bag the pies came in ripped while trekking across the airport parking lot in the Maui heat sending the pies toppling to the asphalt. My husband hastily scooped them up and kept on going. Later they were dropped for a second time in the TSA line, where we acquired a new bag from a kind fellow traveller. Halfway through our six hour flight we declared it “pie time” and were anxious to see what kind of messes the pies would be when we opened the boxes, THEY WERE PERFECT. Not a crumb out of place, not only were they the most durable pies we’ve ever eaten, they were absolutely delicious. We would recommend Maui Pie anyone who loves a good pie while visiting...
Read moreStumbled upon this place and what a happy accident it was. Got a banana cream pie and was extremely happy with my purchase. I've had really fancy banana cream pies and I've had the bottom of the barrel stuff. My taste lies somewhere between high fancy and Marie Callender's. And so this pie is up there as one of my favorites because I tend to like slightly junkie. Don't get me wrong, this isn't junkie at all. But it is sweet just the way I like it. On top of a flaky crust you get slices of bananas heavily covered in custard topped with stars of whipped cream. I should have bought two because the family decided to join in. The wife got a chocolate bourbon pie but she wasn't impressed with it. Too light and not enough depth. It should be more like a pecan tart I suppose, but it was covered in pecans. Could hardly taste the bourbon. Still highly recommend this place based on...
